room topic changed to SEBotics: SEa side expansion (no tags)

1 hour later…
nice how is it gooing?

@PetterFriberg quite good. But as the code structure is in such a way, we can't have more than one site in one room.

@BhargavRao needs some major refactoring you say?

Yep.
There was no plans of expansion

partial off-topic: does someone know the policy for link-only answers on other (non-SO) sites?

11:56 AM
Dunno. :/

@Jammy NAA

1:19 PM
I better create an account :D
@Jammy and this we would flag on SO... hmm let me try
lol, I have no clue what I'm doing on ask, passing comments and flagging as if it was SO... meeh I hope I'm right..

It will be fun when we do Interpersonal Skills

:D, ooh I'm doing it right...

Yup

@Jammy NAA

2:53 PM
@BhargavRao is this real feedback, or just to 'bookmark' the report?

@Floern just to bookmark. There's some 100MB space left on my server, so I don't think I'll add support for reports and logging

3:37 PM
@terdon, Hey, Thanks for informing that AU gets more traffic than UL. :)

@BhargavRao And far, far, far more crap.
AU is probably the biggest non-trilogy site. It's linked to from ubuntu.com so. . .

@terdon I can see. The ones with 5.0 at the end are all NAAs :D

Yes they are were! Nice!

Do you have any heuristics to detect bad answers? I'm basing them on the same SO heuristics and they seem to work out well.
4.0 and above is classified as a NAA (90% accuracy), 7.0 and above is at 99% accuracy.

@terdon one more, if you're free --^
@jam opt-in all naa

Oh shit

@BhargavRao Why shit?
What does it tell you for that one?

@terdon Nopes, screwed up something in the backend.

4:13 PM
@BhargavRao I'm asking because there was something wrong there so I wonder what it was identified as.

@terdon it identified it as a not a NAA. 0-3.0: answer, 3.0 - 4.0: bad answer, 4.0+ NAA.
What exactly was wrong there?

It was a NAA
It had also already been posted and deleted by a mod and then reposted.

Oh damn, then the bot missed it. :/

@BhargavRao Well no, the copy was deleted so the bot couldn't see it.

Hey wait, are those deleted as NAAs? On SO they are answers.
Oh, then I need to read some more AU meta first.

@jam opt-out all naa

@BhargavRao You've been removed.

Need to leave, will be back.

@BhargavRao Well, yes, but the reason is because the "answer" is saying "Hey, try this vaguely worded suggestion" instead of "This is how you fix it: 1 2 3"

@terdon funnily, "try this vaguely worded suggestion" is an answer on SO. :(
You guys have very high standards, I guess.
@terdon, In a few months, if we find a lot of NAAs here, then I'll start autoflagging posts. (like this). I'll add a meta post on AU meta :)

4:35 PM
Cool. But we should discuss this with the other AU mods as well.
@BhargavRao Well, I admit that one is borderline.

@terdon For SO, I spoke to Shog. He told, post on meta, if they agree, go ahead.
And jokerdino wanted the project too. But he was never heard of after that.

Yes, posting on meta is the way to go. I just don't want to be speaking for the mod team without running this past the others as well.

I am just thinking of smuggling the bot to Ask Ubuntu.
@terdon Hey, this is still Day 1. There are 80 more days left :p

@Jammy NAA
@Jammy NAA

Yeah, looks like we need to tweak some heuristics.

guess let it run for a while and the look which filters are overweight/underweight

Hmm, but then I need some space for that and need to refactor the code a bit more.

well.. you could reconstruct everything from the chat transcript later

Yup, but I need to save the full JSON somewhere.

@Jammy NAA

9:24 PM
but fairly slow on this site... not much action.. :P

@jam alive
@PetterFriberg probably just nobody here to post reports :/

@Floern hmm so bed time?

@PetterFriberg not for me, need to work on my thesis :P

Have fun, cya
