104?

> 104 dies, CONNECT, as in Only Connect

1:15 AM
I don't get it but whatever

It's a quiz show where teams make connections
It's where the phrase "connect wall" comes from, afaik
And the "music question" is a particularly devilish question that most teams hate to encounter
106: There, there...

29: Connect wall group: paper, toy, company, equipment

Hmm, someone'll have to take a stab at it first

I'm not very confident though

contact 108'

Hmm

1:23 AM
Actually probably not directly related, but close enough

pass 108

(you passing 108, or 108**'**?)

They're the same I thought?

It doesn't matter, both are the same

I thought 108' was a further clue to the same word

1:24 AM
108': CONSTANT?

108': CONSTANT is incorrect
Whoops
Both 108 and 108' were intended to be CONSISTENT

d'oh

Ahh. Not my word, nor constant

Probably should have made the follow-up "Logical" or something

32: bound

Contact 33

Augh, there's too many "cons" words for me to make a definite judgement!
Contact 32', which I assume is the same as 32?

@Alconja Now I'm less sure
pass 32 still

Well, 32 is technically dead cause I don't think I guessed it right

1:30 AM
I still passed it, you can still guess it

OK, lemme try one more time
32: CONSEQUENCE?

32: Nope. Was CONSTRAINED (32': Cons Trained)

Ah, darn it

Aaaand my word wasn't constrained

...this is taking a while

1:31 AM
But it's extremely close
Also, I'm sorry to do this, but 33: Consequence :P

34: boa

109: Boas do this

DH for sure

@Alconja ninja'd :P

gamEn

See ya!
\o

Finally home and settled in. Aaaand everyone's done, lol. Halo it is then!

17 hours later…
O/
Looking at the game above, DJ defended CONSTRICT, which was eventually guessed. What would have happened if he had defended CONST and someone gave a clue for CONSTRICT since the defended word is a prefix of the guessed word?
Does that count as a direct hit?

the clued word has to be substantially the same word, not merely a prefix of it
(or vice versa)

Do NAIL and NAILS count as "substantially the same word"?

yes
similarly NAIL and NAILED and NAILING

Yep, makes sense.
I have two words I want to defend. A short one at first for a quick game to get the feel of things and then a longer one for a longer game.

6:40 PM
dunno how many active folks are in here

Alright, brb in a few minutes, then I can start.
