@BrianBED If you want to maximize the form you can set the State property to 2. If you want the form to take over the whole screen like a media app, I don't think there is a way to do it directly in Dyalog.

Alright thank you. I was thinking in the media app sense, but I can work around the limitation. :)

I think if you set Moveable, SysMenu, MaxButton and MinButton all to 0, and State to 2, all when creating the form, you might get what you want. Though you will want to set a callback on the Esc key to have some way to close the form.
It will even cover the task bar.

12:56 AM
You might want to set Border to 0 as well

1:13 AM
@PaulMansour That is exactly what i was looking for! thank you so much!

Thank you. There's some progress (the ns hierarchy is created) but I still get an error:

]link.create x c:\src\apl\apl_exercises
Linked: #.x ←→ c:\src\apl\apl_exercises
ERRORS ENCOUNTERED:
2 import(s) failed:
c:\src\apl\apl_exercises\problems_tryapl\2013\1.aplf
c:\src\apl\apl_exercises\problems_tryapl\2013\2.aplf

@BoazC apparently, both 2013 and 1 are not valid identifier name.
you should use the function name for filename

@LdBeth Sorry, I get it now. Changed all directories and filenames to be legal var/func names and now everything is working is expected.

@LdBeth @BoazC Ah. yes, I missed that the year was there too. However, file names don't need to match the function name — though it is a really good idea for sanity.

Is there a way to prevent Dyalog from auto formatting my code? By this I mean when i save the file, Dyalog removes excess spaces between code, but i want to make it stop doing that.

10:31 AM
Announcement: "Let's talk APL/J/K" at meet.jit.si/apljk20220421 right now.
@BrianBED What do you mean by "when I save the file"?

10:50 AM
@BrianBED I assume you mean when you save changes made using the Dyalog editor? For example, when you close the editor
Currently I think the only thing which preserves whitespace (maybe @Adám will correct) is to bring your code into the workspace using 2⎕FIX'file://path/to/file.dyalog', this is a way of storing code as text files, but obviously more cumbersome than link for more functions - it is possible a future version of Link will allow code to stay preserved as typed

11:11 AM
@Adám when editing a namespace and exiting it with esc key, all my neat style gets removed
that being, excess spaces between code
@RikedyP does this require me to save the file like that every time when i'm done editing or only once?

11:24 AM
Oh I see. I'd have to use it instead of link. Yea very cumbersome

11:52 AM
@BrianBED If you initiate something with ⎕FIX, whitespace will be preserved.

12:29 PM
@BrianBED Yeah once you've ⎕FIX'd it then changes made using Dyalog editor are automatically kept to file (I think it prompts you by default)
@BrianBED FYI, although you might know this, if you go Options → Configure → Keyboard Shortcuts then look for "FX" which lets you save changes without closing the editor

@Adám was it recorded?

1:10 PM
@PyGamer0 Not sure. You can ask Justus via meetup.com/en-AU/apl-j-k-meetup

@Adám, your Quest videos are excellent! I learn a ton from them. Thank you.

4:19 PM
@BoazC I'm so happy to hear that they are worth the effort. :-D

5:13 PM
yes! agreed!

@Razetime I love this diff

@Adám Looking forward to tomorrows Quest. I have a solution, but doesn't work for the edge cases. Some functions just don't like empty vectors...
Will look for a completely different approach
