@dzaima @ngn thanks

@Bubbler Actually, =. should be =:. I'm sure that's what ngn meant by ⊢←.
@ngn cn⊢←cn⊃⍣6⊢prev

7:46 AM
@Adám that can be improved by 2 bytes, hint: modified assignment
@Bubbler does j have modified assignment with a derived function?

8:02 AM
@ngn Ugh, my expression isn't even right.
@ngn It doesn't have modified assignment at all.

ngn
@Bubbler by the way, the k solution looks slightly different from apl/j: cn::6 prev/cn (:: assigns in the global scope, n f/ x is the "power operator", using a list as a function means indexing; there is no modified assignment)

@ngn It doesn't have modified assignment at all.

ngn
@Adám ah yes, you need some s

@ngn ;-) cn{⊃⍨/⍺,⍨6⍴⊂⍵}←prev
@ngn cn⊃⍨⍣6⍨←prev

ngn
@Adám that's the one i had in mind :)

8:12 AM
@ngn Yeah, but cn{⊃⍨/⍺,⍨6⍴⊂⍵}←prev is way more ngny.

ngn
@Adám if it's not the winner, it's not ngny :D

@ngn ah, I guess the ⊢← made it a bit easier... ;-)

Q: Golf Paterson's Worms

soktinpkPaterson's worms are a kind of cellular automaton that exist on an infinite triangular grid and, every step, they turn in some direction and move one unit. Their defining properties are that they can never go over the same spot twice, and whenever they encounter the same surroundings, they make t...
