For me Apl choose the float as general number and int using floor or the first assignment as j<-10 it is right (in the reduction complexity)

@RosLuP That doesn't sound right. In NARS, I get 6412=⎕DR 10 indicating that 10 is a 64-bit int. Similarly, in Dyalog APL, 83=⎕DR 10 indicates that 10 is an 8-bit int. In APLX, 2=⎕DR 10 which is an int.

@Adám I've coded almost exclusively in dfns for close to 20 years. I have about 6000 functions in commercial use. (Not proud of the volume - if I were smart it would be half that at most). I can't believe John is gone. He needed to be with us another 20 years.
