huh, I didn't know site rooms could be frozen this way
I thought only rooms created between a few users would freeze
I hope everyone's been well. It's been a hellish 2 years
And snailplane wherever you are I hope things are well

@Flaw Yeah they do freeze. Even site mod rooms freeze after 7 days of inactivity. I remember snailplane said once frozen we should unfreeze the room and say something. So our mod room now is mostly me saying the word "something" every 7 days.

How much work is it to mod this site? I know nothing about being a mod.

Hi guys, may I ask why the "transcription" tag exists if transcription questions are not allowed?
"unless prior research effort is clearly indicated; we're here to help you learn, not to provide a bulk translation service nor to proofread your translations or transcriptions."
I do understand the logic behind this rule, but my (closed) question was simply one sentence for my own learning. I am a non-native. If I cannot pick up muffled Japanese, I simply can't, hence it is not possible for me to put in "prior research effort". Do let me know how I can conform to this rule please, without getting my questions closed

@By137 The site mostly self-regulates through the actions of our users (like downvoting, voting to close, voting to reopen, and flagging), mods intervene when we're needed to be exception handlers, which hopefully is not too frequently.
@rhyaeris Yeah that tag... If it's just an ad-hoc request to transcribe/translate one sentence without a complete question that can be asked about it, it is likely going to be voted closed quickly. Occasionally some of these transcription questions slip through because it's going to need a phenomenal amount of effort to ensure every single one gets closed in a extremely consistent way.
If you need a translation, you can try reddit or some other community. Or you can just post it here in chat informally

@Flaw
@Flaw thanks, i understand. appreciate the response

I think you can try reddit.com/r/translator

Although I must say it makes more sense to close questions asking for translations in bulk ("bulk translation" as stated in the rules) rather than one sentence (which is more likely to be asked from a learner's point of view)
Will certainly check it out, haha. Thanks
