@user285884 @Zanna Is this fixed? Was moving the files ultimately the solution? My impression is that you're unable to easily view just the .cr2
files into Shotwell because Shotwell is showing files of all image types in the same folders, even if not explicitly imported, and that when you tried to copy or move the files out, you were unable to do so because you didn't have room for them at the destination. Am I correct in thinking this?
If so, might it solve the problem to construct a hierarchy of just symbolic links to just the .cr2
files located in the corresponding place in the folder containing the files recovered by photorec? This would require a little free space on the destination drive but, unless there are millions of files, probably very little. And it would address the possible issue of different files with the same names conflicting if written to the same place.
If I understand the problem and that is likely to solve it -- either in this particular case or for future users with a similar problem -- then someone could post an answer with details about how to accomplish it, or add it to their existing answer. I may be able to add this to my answer, if it would help -- the material covered in the existing parts of my answer even lays the groundwork for it, in a way -- but it would be fine if someone else posts about it. Or would this not really help?
