@Pandya optopicness, even answerer understand it but someone on purpose trying to create confusion
wikipedia part is used to show how answer used wiki as a source to force on topicness
@Rickross then try to read without bias and it will be easy to understand

@AnkitSharma The question is deemed as on-topic just not because wikipedia say she is goddess, but OP want to know who is the goddess portrayed in picture

@Pandya "The question is deemed as on-topic just not because wikipedia say she is goddess, but OP want to know who is the goddess portrayed in picture" --- Exactly. So now if this Q is also discussing the validity of Wiki as a source then it is duplicate of other Qs.

@AnkitSharma if your question is based on my Bharat Mata answer, then indeed it becomes closeable with Wiki as a reason of duplicate (I am yet to cast vote, if so). If your meta question is based on the Bharat Mata question then, there is no need of wiki. Isn't it? Cc: @Pandya, @Rickross, @NogShine, @TheDestroyer
@iammilind so you break your oath of not replying to me O.o
@AnkitSharma I never took any oath. I indeed have respect for you as you were a Mod and a fellow Bangaloren. I may not want to reply to trollers like Sudarshan. So what do you think of above?

@Pandya Then I think you should be corrected. The OP didn't wanted to know if Bharat Mata is goddess. Where did you get that idea at all? From what I see and understand from the question, he is already fixed that Bharat Mata is goddess and just need to know the story. The reopen happened based on wiki only.
@iammilind it is not question whether wikipedia is eligible for citation in answers. It is about deciding scope based on Wikipedia whose credibility is question frequently. @AnkitSharma's question is about scope of the question and not sources and citations. This is not a duplicate at all. Users need to understand the question well before coming to conclusion about casting close votes or delete votes which is missing now.
-1 for, posting answer as comment and comment as answer. Misleading for voters & OP (@sv.), what to consider. Flagged for Mod attention. — iammilind 3 hours ago
@iammilind Did you -1, flag other answers with these place holders as well or because it's me?Do you flag every comment posted as an answer on main site? Or is this a special case?

@NogShine let's keep this discussion under your post to avoid drawing away attention from @AnkitSharma's question problem. Thx
@iammilind You mentioned me in your message didn't you?

My meta answer is simple. I posted what I think and wrote a similar note like that of question. According to logic of you and others, active participants, high reps should be given ample time for updating. That is what you wrote in answer. But you haven't followed it in practice. So, some people's contributions are ok ans some are not? Is there a partiality? Contribution can be in an way and votes, edits, reviews.. anything. Everyone should be treated equally based on answer and not the user.
Downvoting, flagging my answer means that such things should not be entertained on the site. Allowing for some and not for others.. unfair and bias.

@NogShine yes. It was for Ankit post. We can discuss other things separately.
10:48
Sorry guys. it's raining heavily with high winds (no power). let me see all updates i missed.

@TheDestroyer No problem. Same with me. It's showering here and there are network problems.

@NogShine OP accepted or agreed with milind's edit like "Who is the Goddess depicted as Bharata Mata?"
@Pandya The reason mods gave me is different. OP just agreed to whatever iammilind and Rickross's words and didn't like I said and blamed me that I criticized him. That comment is there in the answer too.
There were many to and fro moves from the OP.

@NogShine don't cross your limit ok, I think you should talk to @iammilind @Rickross, Both can answer your questions, I am not eligible to answer your question
@NogShine if OP agrees with some context and not agree with other, it's his choice.
Keshav said the question is allowed because a question asking whether she is a Hindu goddess or not is a valid question. But the question asks something else.
@NogShine Yes, however anyway, he accepted the edit when milind tried to make it more on-topic.
And that's why question is deemed as on-topic.
See the modification in the title of question.
Who is "Bharat Mata" Who is the goddess depicted as "Bharat Mata"
@Pandya Another thing is saying my comment is noise and posting noisy comments like "Welcome".. and allowing thanks.. upvoting comment and posting reply to my noisy comment.. what is all this? The comment is not added even after the answer was edited. I was blamed for what? asking to discourage off-topic question?

@Pandya Who is the goddess is the question? The question asks relation with Indian flag. It would be better if the question is relation with Hinduism.. so the question is still not asking relation with Hinduism IMO. The question is not still genuine IMO.
@Pandya the first question before modification seemed better to me...
What about answer flag?
@NogShine well, relation with tricolor is historical thing but asking about goddess seen in the picture is fine question as explained by Keshav.
@Pandya That is not why the question is reopened but showing an answer which cites wiki. That is why @AnkitSharma posted question.. wiki is deciding scope of the site. That is misunderstood by the users that he is asking for wiki in answers. Some casted votes too. That is why I flagged the question. Users are CV without reading questions. A user rolled back the question to suit his mind too. That is not fair and there should be something done by mods.. Aggression is missing.
Others misused del votes too.
@Pandya There are some issues in that answer too like bringing Independence day and feeling pity. What is the reason for pity on us?
@Pandya I still feel that close votes without understanding and clarification on meta questions is abuse of privileges. If nothing is done, there will be no stopping it
@NogShine Eventhough here it may be the case that question reframed to become more on-topic after wikipedia answer but anyway we can't reject such questions that ask who is the goddess. What we can do is : Answer to remove the confusion. Other religious sites also gets such questions sometimes which is based on common confusion and answers getting clear the confusion.
Note that: It's another issue that probably wrong answer based on Wikipedia get upvoted and accepted
@Pandya I understand that questions which clear the confusion are ok but the edits didn't make a good job in generalizing the question and reframing the question. OP just went what others said.. Mods should have intervened in reframing IMO
and in the meta answers, there are some concerns... the language is strong. OP Urged me? What did I do? Did I force him or brain wash him? People said that and it's heavily upvoted..
Another thing.. fears misplaced.. It is known that Bharat Mata is a national mother and limiting her to Hinduism is controversy. See the same wiki article..
17:25
@NogShine ok. I'll review that answer and will try to fix the language if found problematic.
> This association with Hinduism has caused controversy with India's religious minorities, especially its Muslim population.[12]
Credibility : If some reader who is secular, Non Hindu and patriotic who feels Bahrat Mata has no religion.. (that is the general view of public on this matter. There was a huge controversy) reads that answer being with tick (which means correct with upvotes). then what do they think? Doesn't it raise questions on his own faith and our site too?
@NogShine wher's this?
@Pandya the same wiki article from the answer. The sentences are half quoted to highlight their version..
@NogShine I agree that the correct answer should be Bharat Mata is Durga She is looking like Durga.
Reality : Our answers on SE should be correct. We can't say answers are subjective and upvoted doesn't mean right. A normal reader doesn't care about our rules and how our site works. Giving answers which don't reflect reality and just repeating some book which is far from truth will affect the site's quality. That is the reason science is made off-topic. So, contradiction with reality is also my point.. these are my points in the comment but it is deleted and these are questioned in the answer
> This site is only about "Hinduism". What has this question to do with the reality, controversy, site credibility etc.? Such fears are misplaced.
17:34
@NogShine How about answering with clearing the confusion that She is not goddess and adding historical points that shows how he depicted with flag? (I'm thinking to post one or do you want to add answrer?)
Are we not here to give correct answers which are useful for today's situation? The question is a general and modern one and we can't just ignore like we did for some other controversies and showing scripture works.
@Pandya I don't think that might work as people voted out of emotion because of Indian feeling there and the meta answer shows the close voters in a bad light.. saying independence day.. What is independence day for Hinduism or Stack Exchange? Isn't it mixing India with religion? That is not good. There are users from other countries too. We should not confine ourselves to some religion.
@Pandya But I may try.
