@Pandya Hi. What's the agenda for this chat :)
Ok...."An effort to resolve the recent traffic about moderators on meta."

@sv. We know that we're getting more and more questions on moderators on meta as well large discussions to that questions. So, I've just created a chatroom special to that discussions. And hope for resolving disputes and confusions, etc...
This type of continuous meta post is not healthy for our community I think, it may also affect on our impression of main community.
So, I've just tried to handle such traffic here.

Q: Upvoted and accepted answer deleted by moderator

moonstar2001There is this question on whether saints and sages can be worshiped in Hinduism and why Sai Baba is worshipped in Hindu temples. Why Saibaba is worshipped as a deity in Hindu temples? I gave examples of saints that are enshrined and worshipped as deities. I also provided commentary on why Sai ...

Q: Answer deleted by citing Khajuraho images as offensive

iammilindIn ever increasing list of wrongly deleted answers described here, there is 1 more leaf got added: What is Hinduism's view on porn? In this answer, I had posted images of Khajuraho. As requested in question, obviously there cannot be "scriptures" on pornography as it's a modern term. So I found...

Q: Why was my this answer deleted?

RickrossI posted an answer to this question but it was deleted by one moderator citing that "this does not answer the question". This does not answer the specific question about Ramanujacharya's reasons, so I'm deleting your answer for the time being. If you want to edit your answer so that it an...

Q: Why is this answer not deleted yet?

RickrossThis is the answer i'm talking about. The answer does not even remotely addresses the question. And,in any case, when Tezz has precisely answered the question there was not any real need for adding another answer unless the same (that Sadashiva creates the trinities) has been mentioned in some ...

Q: Should we change at least one of our current moderators?

iammilindBackground This question could have been another 'Why was my answer deleted?' as recently one of my answers got deleted, which was answering the question properly with scriptures. Neither did the moderator give time nor will it help even if I press this issue further. So this post is not about '...

Only allowed users can discuss here. Relevant users are added for write access
@iammilind and @Rickross can discuss here
Moderators can offcourse discuss here.

@Pandya Isn't it how meta.so or meta.se work? When policy is unclear and mods try to misuse their powers acting like dictators, meta is the place to discuss such things, isn't it?

Q: Is the moderator justified in deleting this answer?

sv.The following answer to How to start reading Bhagavad Gita? is deleted by one of the moderators here. Is the moderator justified in deleting the entire answer just because it contains a link to one particular book? I don't think so. I actually found the answer very informative although it include...

@sv. Yes but I think there are already many posts about it. So, how about real-time discussing here instead directly posting on Meta?

sv.
@Pandya In fact it's very good, keeps everybody "in check" .. but affects the rapport of users w/ moderators. Which is why sometimes we need moderators correcting their mistakes :) That way complaining will stop automatically!!

Note for visitors If you think you should have write access here, ping me or moderator in our main chat-room.

@Pandya Any amount of chatting with out actions / change in policy is pointless, don't you think? Chatting is only good if mods are willing to correct their mistakes. If they're are only explaining their POV always, people will go write on meta to garner support instead of chatting! :P
@sv. Did you read my answer or you just commenting without reading it as it is not going your way? I wrote We used to get a lot of spammy answers where people were promoting their books and personal websites on random questions., also I've undeleted the answer as thats what you wanted. EOD. — Mr. Alien ♦ Nov 7 at 19:25
"that's what you wanted" should be "I corrected my mistake" ...

@sv. 1. I'm not saying I'm going to explain any/everything. 2. I hope moderators consider to talk (at least) here /cc @Keshav @Ankit @Mr.Alien !

sv.
@Pandya Ok, we'll continue this chat when we have few more users. Gotta go now. Bye.

Q: Moderators should give time & scope of discussion before deleting a post for active users

iammilindThis discussion is neither intended for the few novice users who post low quality answers nor for actually "not an answer" kind of posts. Rather it's intended for the situations, where moderators end up deleting a post from an active user who is well versed about site rules. Suggestion: For the ...

@Pandya I don't see a single Mod here. What's the point of this chat room?

@iammilind Wait and see, we hope....

If we, the ordinary users discuss & decide something then it will appear like little kids in a school bus. Who try to imitate driving the steering, but real wheel is with driver. :-D
@Pandya, why do you use the words like "hope"? To me it feel like we are dealing with some gods & not mods. :-)

4:26 PM
I think it is better to write all the problems in one single ultimate last post rather than having a discussion here as well
all the questions are against moderation but they are somehow misdirecting towards the moderator(s).

@Mr_Green. Agree that we need not have exclusive discussion without mods. But not sure it will be a last post. Waiting for a year now. :-)

@Mr_Green Then before posting, you can prepare here.
@iammilind can we wait at least two days for hoping moderator here?

@iammilind most of the questions are raising concerns and then in the posts requesting some other things like remove a mod or replace a mod or make me mod. Those posts are misdirecting. Btw, I don't have any concerns with moderation or mods. I rarely participate here.

@Tezz and @TheDestroyer You can just ignore this room if not interested. I've just added you looking your good knowledge in Hinduism. Don't mind.

@Pandya Ok.. No matter...😀😀

4:33 PM
@iammilind would be better to create a draft online somewhere like google docs. users who have issues can collaborate there.

Will be back later good-bye! (night time for me)

good night.. me too

@Mr.Alien no hatred going on .. please take all this in a wrong way. See @iammilind comment in a diff. chatroom.
in What exactly is a leela?, 15 hours ago, by iammilind
You are getting it completely wrong. We also love Keshav, as much as you do. We just have problems with Mod's policies. Especially the "targetting of users" where Mod's own thinking doesn't match.
@Mr.Alien @KeshavSrinivasan Care to comment on "Another reason why we need a new moderator is the way this meta post is handled by the current moderators:"

@Mr.Alien Correction: Please DON'T take all this in a wrong way. This is all just constructive criticism.
@Mr.Alien @KeshavSrinivasan With regard to above question, what is your response to: "I see that none of the current mods actually answered OP's question which received 5 upvotes so far. Instead we find two high-rep users trying to address OP's question when it really should have been the moderators doing it by way of a proper answer."

A: Should we change at least one of our current moderators?

sv. Question: Regardless of any other user becoming moderator, do you feel that we need a change in leadership or direction, on how things are done on Hinduism.SE? Yes, I think we need a change; bring in new moderators. Particularly because we currently only have one moderator who's very active....
