@doppelgreener I was just sorting through some cards last night and realized that Skullclamp could be useful is you are making a lot of 1/1s, and with them being so small you probably want at least a few anthem effects
12:35 PM
@diego Oh, right! I was just thinking earlier of searching for stuff that boosts tokens and creatures. Are Anthem effects ones that apply bonuses to all your creatures?
Oh, must be named after stuff like Glorious Anthem

@doppelgreener there are some good options there. Eldrazi Monument is probably the best, Beastmaster Ascension is also really good.
1:26 PM
I found: Adaptive Automaton (snake, +1/+1 to snakes); Beastmaster Ascension (+5/+5), Coat of Arms (+1/+1 to snakes per snake and likewise for other types), Creakwood Liege (+1/+1 to black, +1/+1 to green), Eldrazi Monument, Metallic Mimic (snake and +1/+1 counters for snakes), Obelisk of Urd (+2/+2 to snakes), Seshiro the Anointed (+2/+2 to snakes, and snakes let me draw cards), and Thunderfoot Baloth (+2/+2 and trample for all)
Out of those I'll drop Coat of Arms because despite being really good, it also adds a lot of mental overhead for everyone at the table, and Obelisk of Urd because it's the weakest non-creature option there.
Eldrazi Monument gives me flying indestructible snakes, oh boy.

I did some digging around other similar decks, and it turns out Vhati il-Dal is a *super* useful form of removal for a -1/-1 counter deck.

Current version is here: Vizier of Snakes.
It's overfull by ~12 cards (which is far better than previous records of mine, hooray!), and Amonkhet will better inform me what areas to cut down in.
For now Archfiend of Ifnir is sideboarded because despite how awesome that "-1/-1 counters on everything" is, I only have 5 cards that I can cycle, and I don't have any reason to discard things yet.
Some surprising and nice things I found: Rishkar, Peema Renegade both clears -1/-1 counters, and gives all of my creatures *with -1/-1 counters* a ramp ability. Thief of Blood is a circumstantial bomb. Grim Affliction is surprisingly nice, because it gives me a minimum of 2 -1/-1 counter events. The Liliana Amonkhet Planeswalker deck includes two perfect cards for this deck. Glistening Oil gives me a lot of -1/-1 counters during the game, though it introduces infect.
Crumbling Ashes lets me destroy any creature with a -1/-1 counter on it once per turn, so I can tag creatures with a single counter and destroy them later.
3:42 PM
This deck really wants a Doubling Season, but it is pretty expensive
One thing to watch out for with Crumbling Ashes is it is not a 'may ability so if you are the only one with a creature with a -1/-1 counter you will have to kill your own things.
Admittedly that isn't super likely, but it is a thing to be careful of
@diego Doubling Season's actually really bad for this deck, because it means I get twice as many -1/-1 counters as anyone else.
If there was a Primal Vigor for -1/-1 counters I'd consider using that.
But I *do* at least have Parallel Lives.
Thanks. Something similar is going on for Midnight Banshee: I have to put -1/-1 counters on my snakes. That has varying degrees of goodness if Hapatra's out: if they are base p/t 1/1 they all die then replace themselves with new snakes; if they are base p/t 2/2 the first turn they all create a new snake each and the next turn they die and replace themselves with fresh snakes; more base p/t means yet new snakes each turn before they die.
If she isn't out I just wind up killing half my stuff slowly.
Actually I guess Doubling Season's not too bad -- there's only a few events in which I need to put -1/-1 counters on my own stuff. I'm going to leave it out though because of the extreme price on it.

I just hit 30k rep on BCG!
@murgatroid99 Congratulations!

Haha, I just found a mirror pair I didn't realise was there: Soul of the Harvest / Harvester of Souls
