Um, @IsaacMoses, did you withdraw your nomination? Can I/we convince you to change your mind?

@HodofHod I did. It accomplished its mission. We'll see.

@IsaacMoses I suspected as much when you first did it, but then did you really not mean "I am willing to continue..." (I think that was the phrasing)?

Hmm, am I completely off in thinking that Isaac withdrew to leave a spot for someone else, at which point he will renominate? Hm....
Get going, folks!
:D

@HodofHod I'm not sure why he would prefer slot #4 to slot #1. Order doesn't matter in the election.

@MonicaCellio I think he's concerned (rightfully) that people may be concerned to run against three incumbents. I hope that that isn't true, but either way:

@HodofHod Oh, I see. That hadn't occurred to me since I don't find that much of a personal deterrent. Some people will run and the community will speak.

@MonicaCellio Well, I hope I'm completely wrong.
@All: If you are interested in being a moderator, please do run!

@HodofHod So do I.

4:14 AM
@HodofHod I believe I wrote "I could continue," which is not quite as strong, but I did mean that including the sense of "I am willing." - depending on the circumstances. If the alternative is, as it was, no nominees, then there I am.
@HodofHod I am concerned about that.

@IsaacMoses I know what you mean. I suspect that I would be slightly intimidated if I were not already a mod.

@HodofHod ... and people might think that we'd take it as a personal affront. FTR, I wouldn't.

@IsaacMoses Nor would I. Do you think more needs to be done to encourage people?

@HodofHod lo.yodeya. Like what?

@IsaacMoses They might. I wouldn't, either, FWIW.
However, I have a sneaking suspicion you'd make a good mod, @IsaacMoses, and encourage you to nominate yourself.

@msh210 Thanks. At the risk of repeating the mistake of the nesi-im, I'm going to sit on that option for a bit.

Isaac, why have your glottal stops turned into hyphens? Uh-oh! — WAF May 17 '11 at 2:14

@WAF To distinguish from non-stops on one hand and from guttural stops (for which I use an apostrophe) on the other. — Isaac Moses May 17 '11 at 2:20

@IsaacMoses Yeah, yeah, I know. I just liked and like his pun, so thought I'd repost it.

@IsaacMoses I'm not sure. 7 pinned messages on the side, urging people to run?
:D

@HodofHod A comment on Community's announcement, doing so?

4:57 AM
@msh210 Or even an answer. The question is if that's visible enough?

@HodofHod Right; or believable/influential enough. But it can't hurt.

I can only stay about 20 minutes today. (Though right now I seem to be the only one here; with luck that's temporary.)

5:55 PM
I'm here but cannot talk, I am watching.

Did anyone see hebrewbooksqa.org ?

11:12 PM
@ShmuelBrin That seems like an under-utilization of the technology.
@HodofHod Until this is figured out, can you change the link in the chatroom description to be [mi.yodeya.com](judaism.stackexchange.com) instead of linking directly to mi.yodeya.com?

@DoubleAA That didn't work too well.

@HodofHod :(

room topic changed to V'dibarta Bam: "And speak of them" (Deut. 6:7) Speak of Jewish life and learning with the people of mi.yodeya.com (no tags)

@DoubleAA mi.yodeya.com isn't broken, even though yodeya.com is, for some reason.

@IsaacMoses It is for me. Both of the links you just posted don't work for me.

11:25 PM
@DoubleAA Huh! That's interesting. Please add that information to the meta post.
It probably has something to do with DNS propagation, or something.

@IsaacMoses Ok. It works for you?

@DoubleAA mi.y does. y doesn't

@IsaacMoses flush your dns cache and try again.

@HodofHod Still no.
