Hello any Yodeyans out here (including Ezra - I still value your expertise, despite disagreeing with your answer). Is it rude if I flag an answer that does attempt to answer a question, but in a way that the OP specifically did not want? The question in question ( :P ) is judaism.stackexchange.com/a/90251/16354

Hi רבות מחשבות. I don't think it's rude at all. I'm considering deleting my answer. But your question is almost hypothetical. If Yefuneh isn't a person, then how would we figure out who he was?

@ezra I was looking for sources that say that he/she did exist, and what they say about him/her. I'll try to edit my question for clarity on that point. Thanks for the feedback.

@רבותמחשבות Doesn't matter what was in the OP's head. What matters is what the question post specifies. Answer posts must address that. If you believe that, objectively speaking, an answer post does not address the question it's posted on, whether it's your question or not, then it's fair to comment critically, downvote, flag, and/or vote for deletion.

@msh210 I think that question raises only one of the three concerns you outlined there, #2. 1) I think it's reasonable to consider this "general interest," since it's basically looking for a Halachically-acceptable way to own and operate a milk-frother year-round. 2) Smells a bit like asking for pesak, I agree. Maybe ought to be remedied. 3) There's really one driving practical issue here - use of a device year-round without kashering for Pesach. All of the Halachic considerations here are ...
... intrinsically linked and typically discussed together when dealing with Hilchot Pesach.

Who coined the phrase "Ten Commandments" as a mistranslation of "עֲשֶׂרֶת הַדְּבָרִים," and when? Does it precede English?

It's not the Septuagint. See jewishvirtuallibrary.org/decalogue
(I'd ask on MY, but this is really a question about Christianity rather than Judaism.)

@IsaacMoses let's see if it gets any answers on Christianity... christianity.stackexchange.com/q/62576/40626
