@IsaacMoses Since my question is at 3 close votes now, I'd like to ask again, why my older question is being closed as duplicate instead of the newer one?

Q: Non-normative Jewish practices

N.T.Recently a user has asked a series of questions about the Beta Israel community and how they understand/practice their religion. From the questions it seems that this community has very significant differences in their basic texts and laws from the rest of the observant Jewish community. Is this ...

@Kazibácsi you'll have to ask the close-voters. I think an older question can often rightfully be closed as a duplicate of a newer one if the latter is clearer or of a better specificity (more general or more specific).
I didn't check these two questions.
… Okay, now I've checked them. IMHO the older one is a little better, but not enough to outweigh the fact that it has no answer and the other has one: that's sufficient to close it in favor of the other. (Otherwise, we wind up with a closed, answered question and an open, unanswered one, which is a shame. We could move the answer over to the other question, but then it might need rewording, and it's easier to just close it.)
