@Alex Nice! Thanks. It's literally in the last minute, but I recommend watching the whole thing. He's very entertaining, and he's got good things to say.
He's concerned about poor midot on SO turning people away from the field of programming. As SO is ubiquitous in contemporary programming, that's a real danger, stronger than, say, poor midot on MY turning people away from Judaism. That said, we do indeed represent Judaism on this little corner of the Internet, so we, too, bear a serious responsibility to behave exemplarily and to be deliberately welcoming.

@IsaacMoses Yeah, I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it despite the fact that I have nothing to do with programming and know virtually nothing about it.

@Alex his writing is similarly edutaining. I recommend it, especially the stuff on general business stuff like hiring.
 
@IsaacMoses Long story short, I was reading some of the recent drama on Meta and Interpersonal Skills regarding the Hot Network Questions situation, and someone linked to a post that Monica wrote which was linked from her Twitter account, which had linked to Joel's Twitter account. I curiously clicked on it and this video was one of his most recent tweets. The description said it was about Stack Overflow,
so I figured it might be of some interest to me as some of it would probably be applicable to the Network as a whole.
