I'm here to kick off a conversation about question standards on J.SE, as invited by @Dori. This chat system does a great job of maintaining a conversation that drifts between synchronous and asynchronous modes, so while I'm not intending to stick around for long right now, I think it's worthwhile to just get started and drift in and out over the next couple of days.
@Dori: To get the ball rolling: What are some of the aspects of mi.yodeya's apparent content standards that are different from successful SE sites'?

This might be an appropriate place to raise the question of the mi-yodeya-series questions in general. I've been feeling that they generally add a lot of noise to the question list, and are not really that interesting (though often there are some good answers!).
I've been hesitating about bringing it up, since I know that they are a part of the mi-yodeya culture, and people like them.
But there may be other people that feel that they add noise. We might just want to cut down on the number of them, or agree on an end point (613?).

@Avi Go ahead and start a meta question about it. Don't be shy! I, for one, won't be offended.

@Avi Don't worry, Avi. It's not easy to do.
