@IsaacMoses Did some. There may be more.
I am sanguine that the rest will be done eventually if not immediately.

Q: Should we encourage real names?

Ariel KMany sites nowadays, such as Google+ or Quora, require users to use their real name when registering. On this site, one advantage of this would be so people can recognize or connect with people they know. Should we encourage users to set their display name to their real full name?

Q: ANNOUNCEMENT: How to get notifications of community events

Isaac MosesFrom time to time, Judaism.SE community events, such as the Ingathering Contest, the weekly topic challenge, and Parashat Hashavu'a Chat are discussed or announced here on Meta. In the past, we've used a banner at the top of the main site to advertise these events, but we have learned that SE pol...

Each of our 73 sites has a common goal: to own their community. Taking ownership means (in part) figuring out how to promote the site, make it attractive to newcomers, and make the awesome content and community even more awesome. While we have internal- and external-facing teams of employees to help with this, Stack Exchange is fundamentally driven by the people who use it. Here are a couple of ways that two Stack Exchange communities have come up with to improve their sites.**

Answer-a-thon!

One of the things we pride ourselves on is the ridiculously high answer rates on our sites. (Some other  …

@StackExchange Includes a pat on the head for us!
Should we have an answer-a-thon? Our Unanswered list has 61 questions (~2% of all questions) on it.

@StackExchange Just saw the blog post and thought I'd drop by and say hi.
@IsaacMoses 98% is pretty darn good, not sure if that's truly necessary.
I am also thinking harder about how to promote SE communities these days since I was recently appointed pro tem moderator of quant.SE.

@TalFishman Nice! Hatzlacha Rabba!

Definitely considering some of the ideas I've seen work here.

@TalFishman Necessary? No. Worthwhile? Maybe.
Hi, @Ben

4:57 PM
@IsaacMoses I haven't looked too much into those questions, but I would suspect they are mostly in the long tail of poorly phrased and/or hard to answer stuff.

@TalFishman The poorly phrased could be improved or closed. The hard ones could benefit from concerted community collaboration

@IsaacMoses Just looked at a bunch, looks like you and the other mods have already done a great job of cleaning up poorly phrased questions, I really couldn't find any (which is unusual for an SE).
The remaining unanswered seem to fall mostly into the category of searching for obscure information that nobody here knows.

@TalFishman Cool! Thanks.
@TalFishman An "a-thon" may bring them to the attention of someone who does know. Again, maybe.

So actually, particularly since the total quantity is so small, I would suggest going in top-voted order and putting bounties on each one, or maybe 2-3 per week.

@TalFishman Not a bad idea.
Total cost: 3000 rep

5:07 PM
You could ask some of the other super-high rep users to contribute eventually, if your rep starts to go down too far from all the bounties.

@TalFishman and/or reserve bountying for those that look particularly valuable.
... I'm actually not that concerned with the stats (98% is indeed pretty good), but would like to see the ones that are interesting and valuable get answers at some point.

@IsaacMoses Or, splitting it up between u and the other 2 mods, it'll be a barely noticeable 1000 rep, since all 3 of u have over 8k rep, and in beta anything over 3.5k is irrelevant.
Or ask users with over 20k rep (currently 3), since even once the site graduates anything over 20k is irrelevant.

@TalFishman To a ♦, anything over 1 is irrelevant!

@IsaacMoses True, and I doubt you would ever want to relinquish your ♦, but others may.

@TalFishman Don't be so sure on the first count.
Contrary to DeBeers, ♦s need not be forever.

5:14 PM
Particularly for these obscure info questions, you need to reach the broadest range of ppl possible, and that's more likely with a featured tag than a chat a-thon.

Added a line to the FAQ, per @Monica's suggestion here
Should we schedule an all-day chat about the weekly challenge topic every Thursday?
