I agree with your point, getting comments into index can presumably increase the amount of information relevant to a document, thus possibly include alternative forms of math expressions that are very likely to be relevant to those in question and answers.
I will take some time to add this to crawler. And maybe it is the time to regenerate the entire corpus.
