Q: For which numbers does the order of reversing their digits and squaring not matter?

Master ShurikenThis was a question made up by a friend who doesn't have SE. Let the function $r:\mathbb Z^+ \rightarrow \mathbb Z^+$ reverse the digits of a number (in base 10) that it is applied to. In addition, this function is not defined for numbers which start or end with 0s. Eg. $r(0129)$ and $r(120)$ a...

That one, to be specific.

right (took a while to render on my browser)

@Deusovi I really don't think it's going to be an issue. As you say, I think it will be pretty obvious what's unconventional and what's not. And given that this is all just for fun, with literally nothing on the line, I think that in the event of a "dispute" we just allow it in (i.e. poser's discretion).

@Alconja Yeah, exactly!

think anyone will create a new dare-to-fuse-with-me tag for the occasion?

better go write a description ...
don't we already have ?

yeah, but you can't tag things with that

(didn't come here particularly for a chuckle but sure am enjoying one) (guess the whole subject of tag miscegenation is lighthearted after all)

(yeah, that's one of the things I like about Puzzling - we're not really that restrictive compared to the rest of the SE network)

ay yi yi, and very little (any?) malicious targeting here too!

malicious targeting?

actually, Deusovi, I was going to goose Puzzles, Etc at the moment but was also hoping to ask you about self-answering protocol... and could mention (a little) more about targeting at other sites. care to continue there for a minute or two?

Sure, sounds good - I'll go open Puzzles Etc right now.
