A: The Riddle Sandbox

AnjanShort and sweet riddle. I hope like this riddle. I am something you least expect. But when I come, I seem perfect. You may chuckle, or you may cry, I always make you wonder why. In the end, you never knew, That I’d come out and mess with you.

I'm shamefully going to beg for upvotes on this riddle on sandbox. I ensure you that (most of) you will like it once it reaches the main website: meta.puzzling.stackexchange.com/a/5320/19989

Personally, I think +10 is a bit too much... — mestackoverflow yesterday

user61230
What sort of (simple) threshold would you guys want to see?

user61230
Because so far, it seems like +10 is working out okay.

user61230
It seems high, but I think it's actually working. Seven riddles have come through since it started, and they've all been at worst good.

@Emrakul +7. That seems more likely to be hit after the excitement over the Sandbox dies down.

But there might be something I'm not seeing, so I'm curious what sort of threshold you all wanted.

+7 as well for me

@Mithrandir Hi. I never knew that there exists a particular room for sandboxing

@manshu It was created yesterday, a little after the actual sandbox.

Do we need a sandbox for math puzzles too?

@manshu I created it yesterday because the actual sandbox was getting too many comments

@BeastlyGerbil Speaking of which, I was considering flagging it for comment cleanup...

11:32 AM
what this chat room or the sandbox?

The sandbox.

sandroom

@manshu Probably not. At least, not a compulsory one.
@BeastlyGerbil Thank you for starring my +7. :D

That wasn't me but thanks for reminding me to do so :)

o_o Oh really? It appeared right after you agreed. o_o @WhoeverReallyDidIt:Thanks!

11:35 AM
That was me

Now I can call @manshu @WhoeverReallyDidIt :D

I believe in silent agreement :p
I had been called by so many names on PSE already

Nice ones, I hope?

Yeah...some were funny too.
humn calls me MARShu sometimes

Why :P, that seems random!

Replace 'Earth' with @manshu :

Q: What would the effect be on Earth if Mars disappeared?

MithrandirWhat would the effect on Earth be if Mars, in the space of one second, disappeared from the Solar System? Just simply was gone, leaving no residue, and leaving the space where it had been like it had never existed. Would it have any effect on Earth at all?

oh..I have read this question already..

(i was intentionally trying to create a HNQ question. :P)

hahah
I have tried to do so too...And have succeeded many times in case of puzzles :p

I was surprised at how many votes a few pretzels got...

all you need is to do is to give it a meaningful and catchy title

Q: We interrupt your scheduled series for a pretzel rebus

MithrandirWhat does this rebus, drawn with pretzels, say? (This is what happens when I get bored with pretzels on the table... ;P) Note: The 'scheduled series' mentioned is this. It still needs to be solved! Overall picture: Individual pictures: Note: That black dot in the second one is not imp...

^Not so great title

That title was something different...not something like "Another rebus puzzle"

True. And I guess that some people were like 'Huh? Why's he putting the answer in the title?" and then clicked on it. 'Ooohhh..."
Speaking of which, I have a pretzel sequel...
Now I have to do something with my life. Bye.

great...But I don't surf the main site anymore... :(
bye

GentlePurpleRainThis riddle has been approved in the Riddle Sandbox. With nudity all around me, I help with inventory. With my superhero garb, I'm popular with tourists. @StackExchange This is this user's first question! Let's see if we can give some good feedback...

If riddles include a link to their time on the sandbox, is there any way to obfuscate the edit history?
A lot of the feedback amounts to 'make it harder by doing one of these several things', which is in no way bad advice, and can lead to much better riddles, but the edit history would still allow a solver to look at a much easier iteration.

Thank you @Emrakul for changing it to +7!

@Sconibulus The procedure so far has been to delete the riddle from the sandbox once it has been posted on the main site. That will make it (and its edit history) invisible to the vast majority of users.
@Sconibulus We're also working under a bit of an honour system here, where we are expecting people not to use the sandbox as an advantage to help them solve a riddle on the main site.

@GentlePurpleRain Maybe we should un-protect the Sandbox...?

@Mithrandir Done. Thanks for pointing that out. It was automatically protected due to the volume of answers being posted.

8:20 PM
Is there a way to make sure that a post does not get protected?
(Note: the sandbox would *not* be for answering these riddles in comments. Attempts to answer in comments would likely be deleted.)- meta.puzzling.stackexchange.com/questions/5267/…
Formatting messed up.
And I still don't have 2k. :(
