Can anybody give me any ideas for an esoteric programming language?

Oh okay
Can you add this to TIO if you would like it to be on TIO?

1:16 AM
@Pavel -O1: we can skip past repeated subtractions by 1 until the smallest counter becomes zero; -O2: we can skip past repeated zeroings of a single counter until some other counter becomes smaller; -O3: we can skip past any repeated pattern of zeroings of a set of counters if they all have the same value afterwards, until some counter becomes smaller at some point in the loop
you can try running ratiofall with -d to see the optimisations in action;

@ais523 So you actually need to specify flags?
I don't think TIO has those enabled

-O3 is the default

Yeah, no it doesn't.

you can specify -d to see the optimisations in action

@Dennis Can we get interpreter flags for The Waterfall Model?

1:18 AM
we have them
they go in the "arguments" section, though
as the language doesn't take input there's no distinction
here, see: Try it online!
that's hello world in debug mode
(and you can see it's -O3 both by the optimisations being applied, and by the fact it doesn't time out)
"tight loop" is the -O2 optimisation, "complex loop" is the -O3 optimisation; the -O1 optimisation is so common that it isn't pointed out (it happens every line)
@Pavel the <year> placeholder in COPYING is actually part of the license
that's a bit of advertising "how to use this license" that I can't remove because it's no-derivatives

@MilkyWay90 Sorry, but that's a door I don't want to open.
@ais523 Thanks!

I'm probably going to try to golf the hello world at some point, I've had a few ideas
but just getting that one working was hard enough even though it's fairly "readable" as The Waterfall Model goes

@Dennis Is TIO down?

@Oliver Seems to be working here.

isitdownrightnow.com/tio.run.html Says it is down for everyone.

It also says more than a week.

Strange. But really, I can't get on...

Not debating that, but it if works for me, it's not the server.

3:49 PM
Okay, that's good.

Maybe a DNS issue? I just updated some records to renew the SSL certificate.

It seems to be working for others in TNB, so it seems to be only me. Sorry for the worry.

@Pavel It's just you. tio.run is up.

...yes, exactly
I can get on too

3:52 PM
Let's see if I can change that by updating the certs. /s
Three more months of SSL.
Wildcards certificates are nice, but updating them manually, not so much...

4:26 PM
Reboot didn't help sighs

4:39 PM
It seems to be blocked on my company network all of a sudden. Time to yell at someone!
