Recently I learned about use of quarter tones (beyond traditional oriental scales). I listened to a few compositions of Charles Ives, Stockhausen and Wyschnegradsky. They sounded really creepy for me — I doubt I could enjoy this kind of music. I wonder if there are examples of a moderate use of quarter tones in — how to put it — more serene and peaceful compositions? (I do not have a proper musical education, but I understand musical notation, and can play a few very simple pieces)
