@PauloCereda I feel for the poor self-slapping guy...

@DavidCarlisle : works for me.

@michal.h21 sorry ignore the above, local issue...

LuaTeX has a library called status, with a key called filename. The documentation line says "name of the current input file". This description suggests that it will return the name of the Lua file which contains the "call" to status.filename, but I've been tripped up by this sort of thing before. Does anyone know for sure, or should I just experiment?

@FaheemMitha would there be any side effects of experimenting yourself?

@PauloCereda My computer might blow up...

@FaheemMitha I long for self-exploding compilers, but sadly they aren't a reality yet. :)

@PauloCereda Exploding compilers? What do you people talk about here.
@FaheemMitha ^^ :)

@PauloCereda Be careful what you wish for.

12:42 PM
No, apparently it returns the TeX filename.
On reflection, I'm unclear what "input file" means. I'm also a bit fuzzy on "current", but I guess that depends on what "input file" refers to.

@DavidCarlisle ooh

For those who know how to use SageTeX properly:

Has there been any progress on the clash of \lll from polish.ldf with \lll from AMS? Cf. tex.stackexchange.com/a/360831 . I failed to find a proper(TM) bug report for this.

@PauloCereda ohh :)

@GeekestGeek sent the maintainer a mail.

@UlrikeFischer Will do. To the maintainer of polish.ldf or of amssymb.sty or to both? I simply wanted to make sure that I don't bother them for something that might have a solution already. My TeXLive from Debian has \let\lll=\l in polish.ldf and \DeclareMathSymbol{\lll}{\mathrel}{AMSa}{"6E} in amssymb.sty. Is it also the case for you?

@GeekestGeek you could check on ctan if the newest version has it too (and yes it has)

@UlrikeFischer Thanks for checking! I see. Will do so next time; I could have thought of that myself.

9:31 PM
@UlrikeFischer I'm about to send out the e-mail. If you are interested, I could cc you. Should I?

@GeekestGeek I'd say it's definitely an issue with the polish file, not with amssymb.

@DavidCarlisle Thx for looking into it and letting me know. Do you, by chance, wish to be on "Cc" of the bug report?

@GeekestGeek no it's OK :-)

@DavidCarlisle 👍
@DavidCarlisle @UlrikeFischer Report sent and immediately got this back: `
<babel@braams.cistron.nl>: host mx4.xs4all.nl[194.109.24.139] said: 553 5.3.0
<babel@braams.cistron.nl>... Relaying denied (in reply to RCPT TO command)`
Will have to report this to other two e-mail addresses mentioned in polish.ldf.

9:51 PM
@GeekestGeek I doubt Johannes is responsible for polish.ldf is he?

@DavidCarlisle polish.ldf says `%% Please report errors to: J.L. Braams
%% babel at braams.cistron.nl`. Now I am going to try try elmar at … and massa at … also mentioned in the file.

@GeekestGeek -- I know a bit about amssymb. In that collection, \lll is a shorthand for \llless, and that symbol should still be available if \lll is reused. It's intended for math. In the Polish case, what is defined is for text only. (I didn't know about the conflict.)

hmm johannes used to be overall control of babel, Javier has that now but usually language files are maintained by people who speak the language

@GeekestGeek -- I have a current address for Johannes, and would be willing to relay a report if needed. Let me know, please.

@barbarabeeton Thanks for letting me know. I see. I've just sent out the report to elmar at … and massa at …, and the address of elmar is dead. Should I send you the report to bnb at ams so that you can relay it ?

9:58 PM
@GeekestGeek bnb at tug these days

@GeekestGeek -- I retired from the AMS in 2019. I'm not at tug, but I see that @DavidCarlisle has already reported that.

or you could use the babel github issue tracker at the latex3 github
@barbarabeeton now not not (typos as ususal:-)

@DavidCarlisle -- Ya got me. (Can I use as an excuse that my laptop has developed super-sensitivity, and does what it wants, not what I tell it?)

@barbarabeeton no

@GeekestGeek -- I really am now at tug.

10:04 PM
@GeekestGeek ctan.org/pkg/babel-polish?lang=en lists Javier as the main maintainer of polish.ldf and Johannes as inactive, so using the github issue tracker will reach him most easily (as well as Ulrike and me:-)

@barbarabeeton I've just sent you out the e-mail for relaying.

@barbarabeeton but note my last comment...

@DavidCarlisle O.k., I am going to report this to babel issue tracker in short (please bear with me for being slow). By the way, is Javier Bezos and Javier Bezos López one and the same person?

@GeekestGeek yes

@UlrikeFischer @DavidCarlisle @barbarabeeton Bug report created: github.com/latex3/babel/issues/160 (some typos cleaned up). Thank you!

10:14 PM
@barbarabeeton Sounds as if your laptop is a cat :)

@GeekestGeek -- and report forwarded.

@barbarabeeton 👍 Thank you!

@samcarter -- Don't give it ideas! No cats currently in household, but I recognize the personality attribute.

Please vote for rude for this "answer":

@Mensch there is nothing to vote. Simply flag it.

@Mensch flagged (but repeating the text here doesn't really help)
