@samcarter but imho the argumentation is wrong in the patch. It is not a bug in adobe, but clearly a multimedia bug, you are using encoding=Signed and the value this set was missing in the code. So the reader falls back to Raw (that is the default in pdf). With encoding=Raw one gets the bad screeching noise again ...

@MarcelKrüger should font file names with spaces work in lualatex? I just tried \setmainfont{Font Awesome 6 Free-Solid-900.otf} and it fails (xelatex is fine with it). The font is installed in a texmf tree and \setmainfont{Font Awesome 6 Free Solid} works.

On the one hand I can see usefulness for e.g. distributing itemize items on a frame, on the other hand I don't particularly like that it will cause underful box warning by default unless the user manually adds something stretchable.
