Do you think answering this question is fine or should it be migrated to somewhere else (UNIX) first?
https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/564989/zathura-not-opening-hyperlinks

1 hour later…
7:18 AM
@user202729 It's too old to migrate

I know, I mean "close it and re-ask it on UNIX site" in that case

1 hour later…
8:28 AM
@AlanMunn ooh
@AlanMunn YAY!

9:14 AM
@AlanMunn I think you would be an excellent candidate
Of course, I hope we get a good field of people: there are several excellent potential candidates I can think of

9:31 AM
@AlanMunn Totally supporting your candidature!

10:30 AM
@PauloCereda @yo' --- is it possible to tell overleaf to "beep" me when there is a new comment in the chat?

Overleaf beep at @Rmano when there is a new comment in the chat.
it is possible to tell Overleaf lots of things,

@DavidCarlisle ;-), well, I can tell it, the nice thing would be to be heard :-P

@Rmano no idea about that:-)

2 hours later…
12:26 PM
@Rmano I am quite sure it's not possible, but I need @yo' to confirm (he's the expert). :)
@Rmano that doesn't surprise me, as a friend once wrote me asking how to make arara make a noise when compilation was done. Of course, I did the sane thing and wrote a wrapper that makes the tool squawk very loudly when it's done. She's super happy ever since! :)

@PauloCereda my answer was more correct

@samcarter @barbarabeeton @UlrikeFischer ooh twitter.com/shouldhaveaduck/status/1441736612325441550
@DavidCarlisle quack

dinner gong

@DavidCarlisle oh no

12:45 PM
@PauloCereda :D Skateduck

1:24 PM
@samcarter ooh

2:22 PM
ooh now I can enable ligatures in my verbatim stuff

@PauloCereda ?

@UlrikeFischer \def\verbatim@nolig@list{} <3

@PauloCereda who told you that secret?

@UlrikeFischer Google, GitHub, Fira Code, probably you and Marcel at some point :)
We ducks are very good at ligatures

2:39 PM
^^^ I think one could build a very efficient spam filter just by checking font families ...
3
@PauloCereda I switched off ligatures in my editor very fast -- they resulted in complete nonsense with beamer overlay specifications :)

@samcarter oh
@samcarter lol

3:34 PM
Also @barbarabeeton and @AlanMunn ^^ :)
@JosephWright also, a good name for a mod: twitter.com/GM0DEM/status/1441769406149898248

3:55 PM
@PauloCereda First name is important. The other part(s) may be there anyway (m/w/d)

@StefanKottwitz ooh

@PauloCereda How about a professional mod tex.stackexchange.com/users/92610/modpro ?

@samcarter ooh

4:10 PM
@samcarter Nice, further suggestions from topanswers.xyz are welcome :-)

4:49 PM
@PauloCereda You'll be please to hear that arara is working hard here as I get my lecture notes finalised for term

@JosephWright Will you reward arara with extra delicious bird seeds for all the hard work?

@JosephWright awwww <3

@samcarter but they should have a coat of chocolade.

@JosephWright working hard :-)
GIMP fake, could not resist

5:06 PM
@UlrikeFischer With such fuel, the lecture notes will be typeset twice as fast :)

5:21 PM
@StefanKottwitz You got me scared for a moment. :)

@PauloCereda mission accomplished

5:47 PM
@StefanKottwitz A non-European woman

@CarLaTeX Non-European is nice for world and timezone balance

@StefanKottwitz Exactly
@StefanKottwitz Also a woman would be nice to balance the current Anglo-Saxon masculinity

I just listened to a talk about stomach acid -- the Q&A part started with “... and now we take your basic and also the acidic questions” :)

6:19 PM
@PauloCereda -- Bill Lear, inventor of the Learjet, named his daughter Crystal Shanda Lear. Poor kid.

@barbarabeeton oh my

yo'
6:49 PM
@Rmano sorry I wasn't around. No, we don't have any notificatoons for chat.

@yo' Ok, thanks!

4 hours later…
10:23 PM
@CarLaTeX Obviously, the current mods take no view on who would be best, but there clearly a range of factors one might consider - these amongst others are factors that the electorate may wish to consider

10:47 PM
@CarLaTeX Another question of course is the number of moderators: one could argue that a larger team would be more likely to be representative, but I'm wary of a greater number of mods without the requirement workload-wise
