Well, the issue is if the destination doesn't exists but is referenced. So there is no given object number.

@UlrikeFischer I was going for your full suggestion now of handling this internally. So you would use \pdfstartlink goto struct name {whatever_struct} name{whatever_normal} which gets problematic if you never defined whatever_struct.

@MarcelKrüger I thought I wrote yesterday that I think that you are right that names will probably not work? The reference makes a difference here. In goto actions /D can be name, byte string, or array, but /SD is only an array. So using some attr is fine as long as it can be used with the goto keyword, so that the other destinations still give warnings or do you see it differently?

@UlrikeFischer PDF does not allow to use names for the destinations, but the initial implementation allows to use names to reference structured destinations anyway and just replaces them internally with objects. (The motivation is to allow reusing the name of the regular destination to avoid having to track two identifiers.) If we have direct support for creating structured destinations, then having direct support for using them instead of using something attr is IMO more consistent.

Anyway I implemented both approaches, are you able to test with Linux binaries or can compile TeX Live for your system?

@Rmano -- Yes, there are limits. But sadly, I've just discovered that my favorite pizza place hss removed black olives from their Pizza Romano (artichoke hearts). I can still get them, though, as an addition, also anchovies. Custom toppings do allow pineapple (from which I abstain), but no pickles.

@UlrikeFischer Kind of, HarfBuzz fonts reported unicode codepoints as floating point values, since microtype doesn't expect that it and prints the values to TeX which appends .0 to indicate that these are floats and not integers. They stay in the input stream since TeX only reads an integer when reading a codepoint.

We could argue that microtype should make sure that it prints the values in the right format, but I don't think that it's reasonable to treat codepoints as floats, so I think it's more of a luaotfload than a microtype issue.

@MarcelKrüger I was just wondering if the problem is triggered by polyglossia forcing harfbuzz (I which they wouldn't do it). But yes I think one should do an update. But I don't have much time currently to check the docu etc. Can you manage it?
