@DavidCarlisle @barbarabeeton I remember: There is a phrase that reads "To sly the time dead" = "Killing the time" ("Die Zeit totschlagen").
Something like that often comes from English (or French) and is adapted in German.

I tried to translate the text from a phrase dictionary:

"Zeitvertreib" / pass the time / exile or chase away the time:
colloquial; the term "pastime" was first invented in the 18th century, but sports, games and entertainment were of course not unknown to the rich and noble even before that.
The picture / phrase means that you can exile the "person" named time; or kill him/her so that they no longer bother you with their presence.

@cis -- "Kill time" is a common English expression. Regarding "sly", I think you mean "slay"; that should be understood by a native English speaker, but sounds very strange. (The usual victim of slaying is a dragon; however, I'm of the opinion that dragons are too often misunderstood, and should usually be given the benefit of the doubt.)

@BAYMAX -- If you want to attend using the zoom link, you have to register. It;s my understanding that most sessions will also be viewable via a youtube channel.

@Rmano -- Most sessions should be viewable later on the youtube archive. In the past, a few speakers have not allowed their sessions to be posted for later viewing; that information isn't settled yet. Posting on youtube may take a few days. (Most of last year's sessions are linked from the 2021 meeting home page.)

@Rmano -- Not all papers make it into print; some appear only as abstracts. And a very few are available only live, so if you really must hear a talk, it's best to watch it live within the meeting schedule. (That is why I really prefer and value in-person meetings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be possible next year.)

With pdfLaTeX I can do \language\l@latin to change hyphenation patterns, but in LuaLaTeX only \l@english seems to be predefined. Anyone knows how can I change hyphenation patterns in LuaLaTeX (without babel loaded)?
