@Rmano Thanks for the translations! I think the intent behind the "From?" is the the institute the speaker comes from. My German translation for this sounds also very awkward and personally I would also never use the \institute field for this purpose. My beamer theme with logos etc makes it quite obvious from where I come. Instead I normally use the institute field for the occasion of the talk (name of the conference etc.)

If this "from" key does not fit into Italian/Spanish language, maybe it is best to just leave this empty?

@JosephWright well, it is faster and doesn't hurt. I didn't do so for :TF types if either the test contained braces or only one of the two branches could've got the braces stripped (for code clarity).

@JosephWright I think this would be only the messages, and indeed leaving them out gives a performance gain as TeX is then faster to gobble the whole branch around the messages (fewer braces means fewer tokens to read in, fewer tokens to transform into an argument, and fewer changes to the brace-counter).

@JosephWright leaving out braces is only a micro-optimization in the first place... Benchmarking \def\mya{\@gobble .} against \def\myb{\@gobble {.}} gives a difference of about 17 %. Then again, this code does absolutely nothing. If I grab the argument and put it into \def\foo{#1} instead of gobbling, the difference goes down to about 9 %, now imagine there is typesetting involved...

@nbro No, that would just change the order in which they're draw, not the position. Perhaps \foreach \y in {1,...,4} \path node[neuron, fill=blue!40] (h\y-#1) at (\layersep,5-\y) {$h\y$};, i.e. use 5-\y instead of just \y as the y-coord.

@chsk -- Oh, my! Well, German being a language that is so fond of glomming shorter words together, there are bound to be problems sometimes. If you didn't already know, I'm the keeper of the English (U.S.) hyphenation exceptions, and that's really overdue for an update. Maybe it would be useful to provide instructions for loading patterns for other languages into basic TeX so that hyphenations can be tested. I'll see what I can find out about that.

@JosephWright I generally use a MacBook Pro. The one I have is quite old. We are eligible for a new one every 3 years, but I haven't updated in 5 years. So mine still has regular ports (HDMI, USB, Lighteningbolt) and a good keyboard. The newest ones just have 2 USB-C ports and nothing else, and at least the early ones had a really bad keyboard. I work with an external monitor when I'm at home.
