@UlrikeFischer Bruno has some code, and I have a partially-working approach in v3, but really formatting is a typesetting thing, so it's hard to justify needing to go fully-expandable
@JosephWright well the question is about (default) values in \Textfield, so one really need something expandable here. If the int module has a formatter \int_to_alph:n, why shouldn't the fp-modul have a small set of formatter too?
@barbarabeeton I left a comment under the question with the link you provided. I didn't write an answer because there's already one using minipages, but if you think there's something missing, I can add one.
@Skillmonlikestopanswers.xyz and @PhelypeOleinik -- Thanks for your help. The answer that's been posted is reasonable, though not perfect (bad line breaks in text). What's really needed is a good general side-by-side minipage question; I'll post one as soon as I have access to a laptop that works (see my whimper at meta.stackexchange.com/q/349484 for details).
@barbarabeeton I've just remembered this one tex.stackexchange.com/q/407619/134574 I answered some time time ago (thought the focus is on the gap between two consecutive minipages added by a missing % at the end of the line).
@PhelypeOleinik -- That one's good, but too specific. What I'm thinking of is really generic: "How can I set a block of text side-by-side with an illustrative example?" The components can be text, graphics (\includegraphics or drawn in-line), table, code, something else (?), and the sizes of the minipages need not be the same. (I've started to write, and I'll be happy to let you see it before I post. I need your email address for that, please.)

@michal.h21 it is only a guess. mktexlsr would be my first try. And then check the pathes with kpsewhich and try to figure out why it doesn't find the lua.
MikTeX console and pdflatex show me "updates out-of-sync"
But I already went into the console in both user and admin mode several times and iteratively and updated.
In both modes now, no further updates are available.
Any ideas?
I think I already had this issue once and fixed by rebuilding formats. I already tried rebuilding for pdflatex, lualatex, xelatex in both modes to no avail.

@DavidCarlisle -- If the comma is meant as punctuation, I think it's blessedly freed of the opportunity to have an accent in Vietnamese. (But I've already found a letter missing in the English version. Will report by email.)
@Rmano so I saw, later sorry just catching up the thread:-) you could of course do \hbox{\includegraphics{...}} but then the latex police will confiscate your machine for crimes against latex syntax.
@Rmano note that affects vertical space as well, as \hbox doesn't start a paragraph you lose a \parskip vertical space as well as losing \parindent and \parfillskip horizontal.
@Rmano \par in vertical mode exercises the page breaker but doesn't end a paragraph as there is no paragraph to end.
@DavidCarlisle -- email on the way. You will note that I have avoided reading the Vietnamese version. Although I can deal pretty well with accents, and did at one time know what letters should allow which accents, I don't have my cribsheet accessible and don't trust my memory.

@JosephWright using ace at learnlatex might be a possibility it would look a bit like the bottom right of jsfiddle.net/3nHas/55 apart from line numbers it would address the other issue about the copy and edit buttons as they could go as you would have edit always on
@yo' I have an Overleaf question. Earlier with @UlrikeFischer we discussed how to run install a .dtx file into an Overleaf project using \immediate\write18. This puts the installed package into the "Other logs and files" location. How does one edit these files? And how to delete them? Removing the cache doesn't delete them.
