9:04 AM
@JosephWright did you see that our newest team member created a release? github.com/latex3/luaotfload/releases. It seems to work fine ;-)

9:18 AM
@UlrikeFischer I'd seen: we could I guess do the same for other things ...

2 hours later…
11:02 AM
@UlrikeFischer do you trust him/her/it to do ctan uploads though?

@DavidCarlisle quack

Jul 23 at 12:12, by David Carlisle
@PauloCereda dinner

@DavidCarlisle oh no

11:30 AM
@DavidCarlisle neal.fun/spend

@JosephWright It looks like my error last night was simply that I forgot to pass the -shell-option. As often is the case, the obvious is the easiest to overlook.
I wonder if there is some easy way to flag that particular error.

@FaheemMitha test status.shell_escape and error if it is not set

@DavidCarlisle Can I do that inside Lua?

@FaheemMitha yes (that is the lua version) in pdftex it would be \pdfshellescape

@DavidCarlisle Oh. Ok, thanks. Is this part of LuaTeX?
@DavidCarlisle Ok, I'll give a try. Thank you.

11:52 AM
@DavidCarlisle ;-). But he/she/it can always be blamed if something is wrong ;-)

@DavidCarlisle It? Do aliens get to join the LaTeX team?

@FaheemMitha not aliens but robot accounts with access rights to run scripts on the travis CI platform

12:07 PM
@DavidCarlisle Oh, robots.
Though the odd alien might come in handy, especially if it has extra arms.

1 hour later…
1:32 PM
@DavidCarlisle and ducks
@FaheemMitha The hint is in the name.

@PauloCereda terminator

@DavidCarlisle :)

1:50 PM
In interface3 why are the functions \quark_if_recursion_tail_... not marked as expandable? I guess this is an error in the manual.

@Skillmon Er, yes: I'll fix that

2:25 PM

@PauloCereda ^^^ bookmark with duck

@UlrikeFischer ooh
@UlrikeFischer lovely!

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[unicode]{hyperref}
\usepackage{tikzducks}
\begin{document}
\tableofcontents
\section{Duck: \texorpdfstring{\protect\tikz[scale=0.2]\protect\duck;}{🦆}}
\end{document}
@PauloCereda ^^^ (but it doesn't work in sumatra, only adobe)

@UlrikeFischer ooh
@UlrikeFischer I have neither of them. :)

@PauloCereda which pdf viewer do you have? Does it work with it (compilation can be pdflatex or lualatex, should both work).

@UlrikeFischer I use Evince. :) Let me try.
@UlrikeFischer got the fallback:

2:31 PM
@PauloCereda no that's the text. Look at the bookmarks, the pdf navigation.

@UlrikeFischer oh silly me, hold on.
@UlrikeFischer YAAAAY

@PauloCereda perfect. So you can add emoji in the bookmarks too.

@UlrikeFischer ducks are enough. :)

@UlrikeFischer works in firefox as well

@DavidCarlisle ooh

2:40 PM
@UlrikeFischer ^^

@DavidCarlisle OMG
@DavidCarlisle Had a chance to look through the commits?

@JosephWright only superficially

@DavidCarlisle ;-) Math works fine too (if no subscripts are involved):
@JosephWright anything special that should be checked? I only looked at the titles and it looked okay.

@UlrikeFischer Nah: mainly hoping that my 'stable by fiat' approach is OK

@JosephWright may depend who you ask:-)

2:44 PM
@UlrikeFischer I'm tempted to remove several functions ... might annoy Bruno (and possibly @egreg)
@DavidCarlisle Well yes, there is that
@DavidCarlisle I can cope with the Usual Suspect

@JosephWright which one?

@UlrikeFischer The \tl_range_(un)braced:nnn and \seq_... ones I think should go or at least go to l3experimental

@DavidCarlisle OH NO
@JosephWright David is mean
@JosephWright ooh a suspect

Aug 11 '15 at 19:51, by Paulo Cereda
@DavidCarlisle Joseph is mean. :)

@DavidCarlisle ooh

2:53 PM
@DavidPurton I'd be very happy to come with you. So I will leave Italy for a few days. :-)
Good afternoon everybody
@DavidPurton But is there the sea and the beach? :-)
@FaheemMitha Hi :o) with sincere regards.
@HaraldHanche-Olsen Hi, dearest. Surely with 8 degrees celsius I would feel better and less pain in my cervical area :-/

@JosephWright hm not sure. \seq_const_from_clist sounds sensible - how else can you create a constant seq?

@UlrikeFischer If I hadn't logged in, the bounty would have expired. Thanks always for everything. Have you received it?

@UlrikeFischer That one is stable: I meant \seq_set_from_function:NnN, \seq_set_from_inline_x:Nnn, \seq_indexed_map_...; not sure what to do with the mapthread one (we likely do want it, name is awkward)

@Sebastiano yes I got a bounty (but it wouldn't have mattered if not)

@UlrikeFischer For me yes instead, because it is a sign of respect and appreciation. Unfortunately in this period I am very busy with the school and worried because some students of a new classroom of this year that not remember anything about Mathematics and Physics.

3:11 PM
@JosephWright yes the mapthread sounds useful. Perhaps mappair?

@Sebastiano Hey. How are you?

@UlrikeFischer Bruno got mapthread from I think Mathematica: it's not a bad name, it's just that it's perhaps not as clear as I'd like

@JosephWright "thread" doesn't make me think of two sequences. It is "one thread".

@UlrikeFischer True: I wonder about \seq_map_paired_function:NNN or similar

@JosephWright that sounds quite good imho.

3:21 PM
@UlrikeFischer See agenda

@JosephWright ooh an agenda

@JosephWright while reading yesterday the description of the casing commands I thought that the general concept fits also for "tl to pdf-string-for-bookmarks", something like \tl_pdfstring_case:n. Almost everything that pdfstringdef has to do (exceptions, commands, math) is more or less there.
@JosephWright ? which agenda?

@UlrikeFischer I just sent something around for 'Team meeting 27/09'
@UlrikeFischer Oooh, I'd not thought about that: perhaps we should discuss in light of the hyperref business: could have a 'no change of case' function using the same mechanism

3:38 PM
@FaheemMitha Dear, here in Sicily there is a lot of humidity and in the coming days are expected temperatures outside the norm.
@FaheemMitha Surely it's old age, but when there's humidity my cervical creates problems of equilibrium.

@Sebastiano It continues to rain here. Not much today, though. It will probably tail off soon. The monsoons are almost over.

@JosephWright ooh a date

@Sebastiano I'm not sure what you mean by a "cervical". You mean the neck, probably.
@JosephWright It is a secret meeting?

@JosephWright well it is not really a "no change" function, as one wants to get unicode (e.g. currently something like \000\040\330\076\335\206, and we should drop pdfdocencoding), but if one generalize the idea of "casing" I think one can reuse lots of your code here.

@FaheemMitha In the sense 'it's know there is a meeting', no; it's not an open meeting, if that is what you mean
@UlrikeFischer Ah, that's slightly more complicated: at present the code we have there is not expandable

3:44 PM
@JosephWright I didn't really mean anything. I was just being silly. I credit Paulo as my inspiration.

@FaheemMitha In Italian language we call "cervicale"=cervical=neck :-)

@Sebastiano From the Latin, right.
You could try yoga. I find it helps with musculo-skeletal stuff.
Humans often don't move enough, and if they do, it's not sufficiently varied.

@JosephWright \pdfstringdef is not expandable either. A command \tl_pdfstring_case:Nn which stores the result in a tlvar is fine.

@DavidCarlisle Done, also for the 2nd type of enumerate.

@UlrikeFischer Sure: I meant that the mechanisms set up in the case-changing code all work by expansion. But one could do things in two stages: first 'make safe' then 'escape'

3:52 PM
@FaheemMitha Many doctors have recommended yoga to me. But I have many commitments. And then I'm angry because I have a class that doesn't remember anything about mathematics-physics (they're 16 years old) and I'm in total panic. I should also create slides with beamer or ppt but with all sincerity I can not sit down. In fact, in a while I'll be out of TeX.Se and I'm going around for a walk.

@Sebastiano I don't think the question is really answerable, what answer do you want other than put \label{zzz} in the item and reference it with \ref{zzz}

@DavidCarlisle Perfect! Now I have edited again my question. Always thank you for your precious suggestions.

@JosephWright ooh a closed meeting
@JosephWright you can see the pattern :)

@DavidCarlisle In fact I'm asking every user if he has a greater creativity than my current one to have a more attractive and beautiful numbering list to see. I'm not good in English and I hope it's been clearer now. You can edit my question freely.

4:08 PM
@Sebastiano It's important to make time for your health. Even a few hours a week.
And there are other modes of exercise than yoga, of course.

@DavidCarlisle some papers are nice: hermann-gruber.com/pdf/fun07-final.pdf

@Sebastiano If you're 16, mathematical physics is probably not a priority.
I'm actually surprised anyone is attempting to teach 16 year olds mathematical physics. Do you teach some kind of advanced program?

3 hours later…
7:13 PM
This is driving me nuts. How do I add some vertical space around a prooftree environment?

1 hour later…
8:25 PM
@UlrikeFischer Excuse very much but I not find the link of the image:-( After I have close the window

@Sebastiano well it is easy to exchange a symbol, but it is quite difficult to do it if you don't know which font has the new symbol.

@UlrikeFischer the symbol is Mathematical Pi1 (slanted). I have several books that use this symbol.

@Sebastiano from which font?

@UlrikeFischer Do you want the link of the book? Or the free book online where can you see into pdf the encoding symbol?
@UlrikeFischer I have edited my question (and the image) with the title of the book.

@Sebastiano I don't have the book and I don't have the time to search the font of the symbol.

8:40 PM
@UlrikeFischer Wait that I put any image of the symbols used into books.

@Sebastiano images don't help. One need the name of a concrete font.

@UlrikeFischer i have added the name of the fonts used (I think) also for \pi.

@Sebastiano Do you own the fonts? and if yes do you have the necessary files (tfm, vf, fd) to use them with pdflatex?

@UlrikeFischer I have not the fonts. After you can see this link google.com/…
If I remember correctly, I think they're paid fonts. I only know one version of .ttf fonts.
