@CarLaTeX I do not know the details, but sometimes users have the same idea in parallel and just submit with a short time within each other. It becomes more delicate if the later post has variable names that only exist in your code and so on. (I had a dialogue of this sort: "where does XYZ come from?" "I just copied it from the OP's code." "But the OP's code does not have XYZ, and never had." ... ;-)

@JosephWright if I got the docu right there is the open question how to implement at best different language sorting options. Currently it looks as if one has to manually create files.

@KhaledHosny There seems to be an error in the large text on the title page (page 3) -- look at the first word in the title (the big blue line), it should not have a space in it. Similarly, the first word below it in brick-red. I didn't notice any errors in the actual body text (at normal size) so far.

@barbarabeeton you mean the xindex package we are discussing? That's completly unrelated to makeindex, it is a standalone lua script.

@barbarabeeton it's documented as being makeindex compatible so if that's the case makeindex could be swapped out for the new implementation, but I haven't tried it yet
