@egreg Would you please not moan at me for not fixing bugs I didn't know about? I don't read every single post you write here. How was I supposed to know which brackets you were talking about in which file?

2:44 AM
@ShreevatsaR That was really helpful again! Can I send you the PDF to check if it has any glaring errors? I can’t read Devanagari unfortunately.

3:18 AM
@KhaledHosny Sure, I can check randomly here and there to see if anything stands out

@cfr We had an exchange of comments about it in October 2017

> Italian Bioengineer Develops 3D-Printed Vegan Steak From Plant-Based Proteins
WAT

@PauloCereda we've been able to do that for centuries in England. Just feed plant based protein into a cow, and later remove the steaks.
(also works with ducks)

@DavidCarlisle ooh
@DavidCarlisle oh no

@marmot No, forget it

@PauloCereda Well seen, no MWE was given.

@mickep oh

@CarLaTeX I do not know the details, but sometimes users have the same idea in parallel and just submit with a short time within each other. It becomes more delicate if the later post has variable names that only exist in your code and so on. (I had a dialogue of this sort: "where does XYZ come from?" "I just copied it from the OP's code." "But the OP's code does not have XYZ, and never had." ... ;-)

@DavidCarlisle did you saw? Herbert released a lua based replacement of makeindex.

@UlrikeFischer OOOOHHHH
@UlrikeFischer Where, where, where?

@JosephWright called xindex. Just saw it in the annoucements. Version 0.05 ;-).

@UlrikeFischer Link?

@UlrikeFischer I wonder how he's done all of the Unicode stuff on his own ... if he has, this is really excellent news (and suggests a Biber-in-Lua plan)

4:02 PM
@JosephWright if I got the docu right there is the open question how to implement at best different language sorting options. Currently it looks as if one has to manually create files.

@UlrikeFischer Quite interesting project!

@egreg he mentions imakeidx in the docu ;-)

@UlrikeFischer Also integrating it in xindex.

4:59 PM
@UlrikeFischer Ah

5:17 PM
@JosephWright ;-). A bit of a drawback, but still better than no unicode at all. But I now have in miktex and the experimental texlive setups large icu dll's. It must be possible to use them somehow ...

@UlrikeFischer Yeah, I guess: much the same might work for a Biber replacement in Lua. But ideally, it would be good to have everything 'directly' visible as Lua code ...

@JosephWright the library is large - I'm not sure if I really want this "unpacked". And I think I looked only once in the equivalent biber files - and then only to check a version number.

@UlrikeFischer Could be
@UlrikeFischer Sounds like the best long-term plan
@UlrikeFischer, @DavidCarlisle I guess I'll read up on the docs and write something in my blog

5:34 PM
@KhaledHosny There seems to be an error in the large text on the title page (page 3) -- look at the first word in the title (the big blue line), it should not have a space in it. Similarly, the first word below it in brick-red. I didn't notice any errors in the actual body text (at normal size) so far.

@marmot Indeed in my case I think the answerer was in good faith.

5:54 PM
@UlrikeFischer I see he's nicked been inspired by l3build's --config option ;)

@JosephWright it is always sensible to follow good examples.

@UlrikeFischer -- (haven't had a chance to look at the documentation.) has makeindex been updated to accept unicode-higher-than-256 characters, or is there still a danger of either errors/warnings or the need for a 7-bit sort field, or is makeindex only mentioned as "no longer needed"?

@barbarabeeton you mean the xindex package we are discussing? That's completly unrelated to makeindex, it is a standalone lua script.

6:18 PM
@ShreevatsaR Thanks, will look into it.

6:45 PM
@UlrikeFischer -- ah, okay. (your comment above mentioned makeindex, and i got confused.) thanks for the clarification. (i noted the posting to ctan-ann about xindex as a possibly promising topic for tugboat coverage, but haven't had time to explore.)

7:43 PM
@barbarabeeton it's documented as being makeindex compatible so if that's the case makeindex could be swapped out for the new implementation, but I haven't tried it yet

@marmot Wonderfullllllllllllll!! Great and very nice. :-) A big huge.
@DavidCarlisle @barbarabeeton Good evening and good TeX.
@barbarabeeton Thank you very much for previous comment and indication for a my question.

@DavidCarlisle I've added contents of file that causes this problem in edit section. Actuall path in graphicspath can be anything — Miku 5 mins ago

@DavidCarlisle What is this 'people' of which you speak?

@JosephWright or one person with super powers would do.

@DavidCarlisle :)

@JosephWright skype:-)

@DavidCarlisle which reminds me github.com/ho-tex/oberdiek/issues/31

9:04 PM
@UlrikeFischer sorry oberdiek package is shredded into bits on my machine:-)

@DavidCarlisle you could switch the branch ;-)

@DavidCarlisle Ack

@UlrikeFischer Next you'll be suggesting I make overlapping conflicting edits in each branch and have faith that git merge will sort it all out in the end.

@DavidCarlisle would be interesting to know if git can find the file after so much moving ;-). But I guess it will have to wait.

@UlrikeFischer I expect it will, it's pretty good at spotting moved files.

10:09 PM
@UlrikeFischer "Did you saw" may be translated to "Hast Du gesägt?" ;-)

@marmot open a club with my husband. He constantly tells me that I'm doing this wrong but I never remember it when I write.

@UlrikeFischer No, wood chucks do not saw. ;-)

this is asking for a crystal ball. — David Carlisle 38 secs ago

@DavidCarlisle One of my crystal ball says that in the near future it will become clear that LaTeX is just a platform to run TikZ, and LuaLaTeX will simply die out. Oh no, this one is made in China. ;-)

@marmot you should post that as an answer, you'll probably get 500 votes and a gold badge

@DavidCarlisle Well, I guess that this an example of an answer that is still true in 10 years from now. ;-)

@egreg Not one that told me anything. Whatever you thought you told me, I didn't get it. I can see in retrospect that you may have thought you did, but how was I supposed to know that's what you meant?
