Q: lyx, not all citation shown when citing (JabRef)

MarkusI am using a template for lyx, which supports the use of JabRef. My first sources work well. I have my data and can cite in lyx via "Insert->citation...". Now I have the problem, that my newest citations are not available in the list, that is shown when I want to insert a citation in lyx. I chec...

I honestly think that question should be closed as it isn't helpful to anybody.

1 hour later…
8:45 AM
@Johannes_B VtC as unclear

@ChristianHupfer Again, i don't hear a ping.

@Johannes_B Blame the society TeX.SX for that ;-)

@ChristianHupfer The radio station live stream interface thingie doesn't let me change the volume.

@Johannes_B Don't use the internet -- it's full of bad thingies ;-)

9:17 AM
Any information about how equation decides between \abovedisplayshortskip and \abovedisplayskip? I know it is a h distance that it looks at, if large enough, the short one is used. But is that parameter configurable?

9:31 AM
@daleif It's in the tex book (chapter 19). tex looks at the width of the previous line and records it in \predisplaysize and then more or less \abovedisplayskip is used if \predisplaysize + \displayindent would overlap.
\documentclass[12pt]{scrartcl}

\begin{document}
\abovedisplayskip=1cm
\abovedisplayshortskip=0cm

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
\[a\]

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
\[a\predisplaysize=0pt\]

a
\[a\]

\displayindent=-\linewidth
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
\[a\]

\end{document}

9:44 AM
@UlrikeFischer thanks, was thinking to change the default setting

Maths advice: after n and m, what does one usually pick 'next' to represent an integer?
I guess I mean natural numbers ...

10:10 AM
@JosephWright i,j

@DavidCarlisle I wondered about those :-)

@JosephWright well o isn't so good and p is usually prime, so if you know you need more than 2, better to start earlier and use ijklmn which is exactly the default integer names in Fortran :-)

@JosephWright m,n,p,q,r

@egreg That was my other choice: comes down to either p or l I suppose (I want to start at n as it's the convention)
Not a big thing: just tidying up some slides for work
There were more important things to alter: I'd inherited them from someone else and some parts of the chemistry were suspect

10:55 AM
@JosephWright In physics \alpha, \beta,\gamma are also valid if 0 is allowed as 'natural' number. This occurs in 4-dimensional space - time Lorentz vectors or tensor indices

@ChristianHupfer I'm not doing anything so complex :-)

@JosephWright Booooooooooooo! ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Just showing variable length in some molecules: normally n is enough, but I've got sub-parts ...

@JosephWright: You shall count to three and only to three ;-)
@JosephWright With length you mean the number of atoms then?

@ChristianHupfer Yes
@ChristianHupfer Broadly: number of repeat units, so more than one atom in each :-)

11:03 AM
@JosephWright I see, n=0 is no real option then, I assume ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Not in this case

@JosephWright Pretty complex then,if $n>0$ ;-)

11:28 AM
Had to use a new mod power!

@ChristianHupfer Well, today, it weren't templates that made me rage. Ich geh dann mal Unkrautzupfen.

11:45 AM
@JosephWright Did you use a legendary Pokémon? :)
Joseph's Zapdos used thunderbolt! It's super effective!

12:18 PM
A wild \expandafter appeared!

Where can I find MWE about Tikz Graphs lib?
I cannot get even the simplest example working with it, why?

@hhh The TikZ manual.

hhh
It is copied from there
p.249
but nothing compiles

@hhh Sorry, there's no example like yours in page 249. TL2016, last updates applied.

hhh
p.298 on Version 3.0 manual: pgf.sourceforge.net/pgf_CVS.pdf
\tikz \graph [clockwise, clique] { subgraph I_n [n=4] };
Latex Error: ./test55.tex:5 Package tikz Error: I did not find the tikz library 'graph.standard'. I looked for files named tikzlibrarygraph.standard.code.tex and pgflibrarygraph.standard.code.tex, but neither could be found in the current texmf trees..
It mentions graph.standard above the example but such library cannot be found.
I moved the puzzle to the main:

Q: Minimal working example about Tikz Graph library?

hhhI am trying to get a minimal working example about Tikz Graph library working but unsuccessuful. I am getting the examples from the page 298 on the tikz manual 3.*. So how can I get a minimal working example about tikz graph library working? MWE \documentclass{article} \usepackage{tikz} \usepa...

12:58 PM
@hhh are you using code from sourceforge, or from texlive distrib?

hhh
From this manual pgf.sourceforge.net/pgf_CVS.pdf in sourceforge, is it different from texlive distrib?

@hhh no idea but it would be pretty odd not to use the manual and code from the same version

@hhh: \usetikzlibrary{graphs.standard}

@hhh if you are using texlive just use texdoc tikz and get the manual for the version you are using

And please, DO NOT POST IMAGES. If you want us to test code, post the code.

hhh
1:01 PM
@PauloCereda hurray, that worked.
@DavidCarlisle what was the command to see the manual in my own computer?
There is a commandline command to do that

@hhh texdoc surely you've been using texlive long enough to have used that at least once:-)

hhh
3.0.1 manual has the same instructoins as 3.0.0 but on p.299 so a bug in manual?

Mar 26 '12 at 19:37, by David Carlisle
@Canageek moral of the story: never read the documentation, bad things happen
@hhh looks that way

A: Tikz Library Graph.standard Error: Minimal working example about Tikz Graph library?

Ulrike FischerThere is a typo in the documentation. This here works: \documentclass{article} \usepackage{tikz} \usetikzlibrary{graphs} \usetikzlibrary{graphs.standard} \begin{document} \tikz \graph [clockwise, clique] { subgraph I_n [n=4] }; \end{document}

for moths, I have avoided graph.standard library because not able to get it working -- finally I realise that there is just a bug in the manual and graphs.standard is correct :)
My goal is to create this kind of graph, I am not yet sure how to create it: ideas? Not Grid graph, bibartitate, other?
It is 6x6 gridgraph with some edges/vertices removed and some additional edges, possible to create that way?
Other way: 5 path graphs with some exrta edges added later

1:57 PM
@barbarabeeton You may want to look at tex.stackexchange.com/questions/320222 for a new word in the hyphenation exception list

@egreg -- good going. thanks for ping. it's now entered as a "new word" in the exception list. (actually rather surprised that it hasn't been reported before.)

@barbarabeeton Indeed! I checked the list and was surprised too.
@barbarabeeton Whether it's wiki-pe-dia or wi-ki-pe-dia or wiki-pedia is up to you.

2:14 PM
@egreg -- yup. i chose not to hyphenate "wiki", but i'm okay with "pe-dia". (by the way, the list i've got is more up to date than the one on ctan. at latest count, there are 27 additions since the list was last published, and i've got a pile of suggestions from a devotee who has gone so far as to actually check the dictionary. all else being equal, i hope to have attended to that pile so that additions can be published in the last tugboat issue this year.

hhh
How can I rotate/transpose the graph?
I am trying to get like the one on the far right, and I am trying to transpose the middle one but I cannot find any transpose command in tikz manual, ideas?
Moved the question to the main here, about transposing a tikz graph.

@Johannes_B What ever made you rage then ...

@ChristianHupfer Girls :-)

2:29 PM
@Johannes_B How dare you!

@Johannes_B Say no more @PauloCereda ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Maybe @Johannes is into photography. :)

@PauloCereda Maybe @Johannes_B is sports ? ;-)

@PauloCereda @ChristianHupfer They can be really strange sometimes. And tell even stranger stuff.
@ChristianHupfer Neither sports, nor photography.

@Johannes_B lalalalalalala can't hear you ;-)

@PauloCereda: NO MALWARE HERE ON 'Todesstern' ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Your machine sounds suspiciously like a grasshopper. :)

@ChristianHupfer You would be very lucky working with my machine.

@ChristianHupfer ^^^

@PauloCereda ;-)
@Johannes_B :D

@ChristianHupfer Let's hope he doesn't use memoir or KOMA ;-)

@Johannes_B KOMA not found on my TeXLive distribution (it's banned :-P)

@ChristianHupfer I am unable to provide KOMA solutions for a while now.

2:44 PM
@Johannes_B Not updated yet? Well, you know my opinion about KOMA

@ChristianHupfer Code base is too complex to just take a look and give a quick solution.

@Johannes_B A yet very strange 'manual' that describes nothing, in my point of view

@ChristianHupfer Search for makechapterhead in scrbook.cls. This is the same problem. The more complex and easy to use it gets, the harder it gets to customize.

@Johannes_B Ich kaufe mir lieber ein Armauskugelgerät, da habe ich mehr Freude daran ;-)

@ChristianHupfer :-)

2:57 PM
How can I specify the length of the edge in the tikz graph here?
\tikz \graph {
1 -- 1{,}4 -- 1{,}3 -- 1{,}2 -- 1{,}4{} -- 1{};
2 -- 2{,}4 -- 2{,}3 -- 2{,}1 -- 2{,}4{} -- 2{};
3 -- 3{,}1 -- 3{,}2 -- 3{,}4 -- 3{,}5 -- 3{};
4 -- 4{,}1 -- 4{,}2 -- 4{,}3 -- 4{,}1{} -- 4{,}2{} -- 4{};
5 -- 5{} -- 5{,}3 -- 5{}{} -- 5{}{}{};

1{,}4 -- [bend right] 4{,}1;
1{,}3 -- 3{,}1;
2{,}4{} -- 4{,}2{};
1{,}4{} -- [bend right] 4{,}1{};
3{,}5 -- [bend right] 5{,}3;
2{,}4 -- 4{,}2;
};
I tried adding ++(3.0cm,0) after each -- but err as instructed here.

I am watching Kitchen nightmares for a bit of amusement. Strange things you see there. Quite a few crazy guys. But a restaurant that closes at lunchtime because the cook needs his daily nap?

@Johannes, @Christian, @egreg, @David, @barbara: ^^ programming marathon. :)

@PauloCereda What's that? Pizza chocolate? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer -- the horizontal spacing is atrocious.

@PauloCereda where is the borussia duck? In the training camp?

3:08 PM
@barbarabeeton Do you refer to the KOMA manual?

@UlrikeFischer ooh hold on. :)

hhh

@UlrikeFischer @PauloCereda sold it to get the Pizza chocolate (or whatever that is ;-)

hhh
This is what I cannot understand with Tikz Graph: some inherited setting makes the edges go super small, anyway to overwrite the behaviour?

My favourite question title: "..... does not work" ...

3:10 PM
@ChristianHupfer @PauloCereda You get more than some chocolote for borrussia players currently!

@PauloCereda Are they good listeners? Do they understand, what you are talking about? Or do they start singing Wo ist die Kokosnuss? after five minutes?

@UlrikeFischer Au contraire -- it's Pizza Chocolate, that's his Precious ;-)

@Johannes_B No, they sing Der Ententanz. :)

@Johannes_B The Black Forest Ducks do understand my local dialect only. No chance to use any other language

@ChristianHupfer Are there ducks oly speaking our dialect here?

3:13 PM
@UlrikeFischer: ^^ :)

hhh
Moved the problem to q here.

@PauloCereda What is the blue box?

@Johannes_B A police public call box -- very frequent in London, for example. There's a police officer (at certain 'office' times)

@UlrikeFischer ooh it's the famous TARDIS from Doctor Who. :)

@ChristianHupfer -- referring to the visual "contents" example you posted. (haven't looked at the koma manual recently.)

3:16 PM
@PauloCereda @ChristianHupfer @UlrikeFischer Anybody interested in some local hits? youtube.com/watch?v=TDHLCpGcKpA

@barbarabeeton It's the normal book class, without any other changes to it than increasing the numberwidth ... I wouldn't call the horizontal spacing atrocious
@Johannes_B Viral anti-marketing? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer -- the space after "Mrs." is wider (absolutely, with "viii", and visually with "vii") than the space between the number and the text. (probably not using \frenchspacing, although i'd use a slash-space instead.)

@barbarabeeton Ah that space ... apparently you didn't get the reference to Monty Python, however. ;-)

@PauloCereda Hm, an academic duck, a time machine, a borussia duck and some sticks. I'm will have to do some thinking to interpret this installation ;-) What is on the button? A witch?

@UlrikeFischer ooh it's a fox wearing a tie. :)

3:22 PM
@ChristianHupfer -- have to admit, you got me there.

@ChristianHupfer A few hundred students were singing along. :-)

@barbarabeeton My three chief weapons are ...hints to MP, to Star Wars and something that's some kind of a free slot, to react to something immediately ;-) @PauloCereda

@ChristianHupfer Nobody expects the Black Forest Inquisition.

@PauloCereda Get the comfy chair :-P
One MP joke per day keeps the doctor away

@Johannes_B Neat. We have only the borussia song youtube.com/watch?v=Dw12dhqz7L4

3:35 PM
@UlrikeFischer I have to be completely honest to you: The only way i know who won that football event recently, was a video of a little boy with a red shirt consolildating a crying guy in a blue shirt. I am really not a football guy.
From what i heard from others, the trainer of the national team is ... disgusting?

@Johannes_B The German trainer?

@ChristianHupfer Jogi, yes.

@Johannes_B He's a Black Forester by birth too ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Oh, well, let's hope you are not that ... strange.

@Johannes_B I am stranger, of course ;-) Much stranger

3:40 PM
@ChristianHupfer bäh bäh

@PauloCereda Are you able to pronounce Mönchengladbach?

@Johannes_B: I know where you can meet him in Freiburg (Freiburg, not Freiberg :-P), I've seen him already from a distance walking as pedestrian on the other side of the street.

@egreg I am :-)
@ChristianHupfer Sorry, not interested to meet him.

@Johannes_B And do you know the famous beer from Mönchengladbach?

@Johannes_B Neither me

3:45 PM
@egreg No. :-(

@Johannes_B I'm not a football guy either. In TV I find it boring, in a stadion it is okay, but not something I want to see every week. But it is an important social factor in this city, (and not only here: there is somewhere a video of a whole stadium singing all the time and this is rather impressing). The clubs don't do only football: Jünter e.g. promotes reading juenter.de/lesekalisch/seite/21.htm. So it is imho important to know a bit about it.

@egreg I cannot even type the umlaut. :)

4:29 PM
I need some help with edit this text here <http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/320225/how-put-footnotes-in-expex-pack> The footnotes do no appear!!!

@Johannes_B Ask @UlrikeFischer

4:47 PM
@PauloCereda Our German friends lived in Alte-Gladbacher-Straße in Krefeld, the ”old road to Mönchengladbach" and they taught us about Alt beer

Another question for @DavidCarlisle tex.stackexchange.com/q/320259/2693

User asks for video tutorial on LaTeX, response: *Even better than a video, a free ebook :-)
http://www.dickimaw-books.com/latex/novices/index.html* User was happy :-)
Isn't that the dream? A user happy to read some documentation?

5:07 PM
@AlanMunn Can you please try on your Mac the issue described in tug.org/pipermail/tex-live/2016-July/039084.html ?
@AlanMunn Just to have a confirmation from another source

@egreg Sure. Hang on.
TamanduaNew:texjunk alan$ xetex -shell-escape xetex-bug-test.tex

No bug for me.
@egreg But no PDF file produced.

@AlanMunn Yes, it's the same that happens to me

@egreg And the .log file is completely empty, which seems odd.

@AlanMunn Really
@AlanMunn Thanks, this means it is really a bug of the Mac OS X xetex binary

@egreg ooh :)
@AlanMunn ooh a new tamanduá. :)

5:15 PM
@PauloCereda Yeah, it's a temporary name. It's a clone of the old Tamandua from backup, but various things got screwed up, including all my old mail. :(

@AlanMunn Oh no! HDD failure? No Time Machine?

@PauloCereda No, it was a time machine backup from a working old MacBook Pro.

@AlanMunn oh

@PauloCereda But there's something weird with El Capitan and Mail.app sometimes. It gets confused. I haven't had time to fix it. I wish there was a better way to handle mail.

@AlanMunn Thunderbird? :)

5:18 PM
@PauloCereda God no! :)
@PauloCereda The problem isn't the interface, as much as the need for archiving.

@AlanMunn Ouch I see.

@PauloCereda What I really need is mailsteward.com but it's relatively a pain to set up last time I looked.

@AlanMunn Quite expensive too. :(

@PauloCereda That doesn't concern me so much. I'm not opposed to buying good software as long as it's not extortionware like most current Adobe products, e.g.

5:28 PM
@PauloCereda Crazy! At that price it should be a first edition signed by both of them. And maybe by Newton too.

@AlanMunn Exactly. :)

5:43 PM
@PauloCereda @AlanMunn “No other book has had such an influence on the subsequent history of mathematical philosophy.” I agree: at that point everybody knew how not to do mathematics.

6:03 PM
@egreg :)
BTW, can someone who's not a member of the Ling-TeX mailing list see if this link is viewable? sympa.uio.no/ifi.uio.no/arc/ling-tex/2014-03/msg00032.html

"AUTHORIZATION REJECT (arc) Web archives are restricted to list subscribers.
You need to login"

@Johannes_B Thanks. Not what I want. I need a public link to the thread.
What's the non-math equivalent of \mskip1.5mu?

@AlanMunn Can't help you with that :-(

6:31 PM
@BozenoBozilson Hi I've posted a solution to your problem about footnotes in ExPex.

7:05 PM
@AlanMunn \hskip 1.5 * 1/18 em

@AlanMunn Not visible

@egreg Thanks. I think the archive is closed so there's no way to make public links.
@DavidCarlisle Thanks.

@DavidCarlisle Which is .083333em, for those who don't like fractions

@egreg I rounded up to .1 :)

@AlanMunn More precisely, \check@mathfonts\hskip0.83333\fontdimen6\textfont2\relax

7:24 PM
@egreg which rounded to 1dp is probably going to be .1em whatever font setup you have:-)

@DavidCarlisle Accuracy is accuracy

@egreg For an arbitrarily chosen value to begin with I think accuracy is of little importance in this case.

@JosephWright You might be interested in this question:

Q: Is it okay to modify the LaTeX template for article submission with additional packages?

mwormserI want to start writing on an article that is probably going to be published in one of the IOP journals. There is a template for their publications, but it lacks some (for me) essential packages. Since I've never submitted an article myself, I want to be sure the editing process goes as smooth as...

@DavidCarlisle “NAG provides accurate, documented, numerical software to help you make sure that your results are accurate.” Translated: “our software provides accurate results according to our definition of accuracy”.

7:34 PM
@egreg yes, although seriously we do go to some lengths to define what that means for each routine, one reason why the manual covers tens of thousands of pages...

@egreg Sounds pretty accurate to me. :)
@DavidCarlisle Now we understand the context of this:
Mar 26 '12 at 19:37, by David Carlisle
@Canageek moral of the story: never read the documentation, bad things happen
It's tens of thousands of pages. Of course you should never read it. :)

@AlanMunn a little light reading for you: nag.co.uk/numeric/fl/nagdoc_fl25/nagdoc_fl25.pdf

@Canageek -- there's an inaccuracy in one of the answers. iopams is stated to be an iop adaptation of amsmath. it is not. what it is, is an extension for amssymb to provide predefined names for bold greek letters. amsmath is not used at all; iop has an entirely different style for math displays.

@barbarabeeton You should add an answer or a comment, but thanks for letting me know.

@Canageek -- not subscribed to that forum, so i can't. the last time i registered to a site for the explicit purpose of providing an answer, it was rudely cut down by two downvoters who claimed it was advertising. i'm gunshy.

7:44 PM
@DavidCarlisle I wonder if that is longer or shoerter then the Bruker XRD manual taking up a shelf or two in the x-ray room.
@barbarabeeton Ah, OK. I'll add that as a comment.

@barbarabeeton This is just myself. I understand that the president of TUG was removed and i know that the decision wasn't taken with the blink of an eye. I trust in TUG, the members as different as they are, the board and everybody involved in the case. And i wan't this crisis to find a friendly ending. Not for me, not for you, not for the mods of TeX.SX, not for the mods of any other place, not for the powers of ... for us.

@Johannes_B And ducks and penguins. :)

@PauloCereda yes, exactly.

@barbarabeeton Ok, added. Linked to your comment here, so I'll take any downvotes.
@barbarabeeton (Also understandable. My first question on RPG.SX in years just got a downvote, with no comment or explanation.)

@Canageek -- looks just fine to me. thanks.

7:57 PM
Have I mentioned how greatful I am about this place?
I wish there was a crystallography.sx
xrayforum.co.uk takes a LONGGGGGGGgg time to answer questions if they aren't about OLEX2

@Canageek Soon there will be pokemon.sx :)

@PauloCereda That doesn't help me figure out how to deal with the new test they just added to checkcif. Also, only if the game isn't a flash in the pan.

I'd like to see typography.sx. But it was rejected :(

(is it even complex enough to support a SX? What type of questions would it get)

@Canageek :)

7:59 PM
@Paapaa I tried to help, but coudln't submit questions. I backed it though.

@Canageek The SX proposal has to raise from Area 51, and it goes from proposal, private beta, public beta and graduation, if I recall correctly.

@Canageek What's better fcc or bcc?

@Johannes_B -- thanks for the kind words. i hope for a peaceful end to all of this, so that we can just go back to doing what we care about -- being enthusiastic users of tex, and encouraging others who can benefit from its use to join in.

@Canageek And I learned about Area 51 only recently.

@PauloCereda And already we are seeing a drop off in interest in Pokemon GO.
@Johannes_B Eh? Anything that packs in either one is boring. I like P-1 and C2/c myself.

8:00 PM
@barbarabeeton You got my full support

@Canageek Is it? I don't have much feedback around here, as the game hasn't launched in Brazil. :)

@PauloCereda That doesn't mean you can't install it on android. I mightttt have before it came out here.

@Canageek Keep it simple man :-)

@PauloCereda Players are starting to reach the lvl20 range, which the game starts making simple things harder and harder. Even weak pokemon get harder to catch, so they can sell pokeballs. Couple that with the fact that gym battling is pretty boring, and the only thing to do is catch pokemon, once you've caught most of the non-super rare ones in your area, intrest starts to drop off.

@DavidCarlisle Thanks. I'll get right on that.

8:03 PM
@Johannes_B A lot of people are hoping they have phase 2 lined up, but if they can get that out before the huge surge of interest dries up is hard to say. They probably won't do that until they've got the globe online, which is taking longer than expected.

@Canageek Oh I might check it out when it's open in Brazil. Thanks for the update! :)

@PauloCereda it is a lot of fun if there are enough pokestopes in your area, which depends on how many public buildings near you are in their database, plus how many Ingress players you had.
@PauloCereda Our lab occasionally goes on Pokewalks, as do my girlfreind and I

@Canageek I might take care when using this in SP, at the risk of having my phone stolen. :)
@Canageek :)

@PauloCereda I hear that is a risk some places. There is a twitter hashtag on it #mypokehood
@PauloCereda I mostly use it on campus, since university campuses are FULL of pokemon. Or on transit, all train stops are pokestops.

@Canageek Awesome! Which starter did you pick?

8:09 PM
@PauloCereda I went with squirtle, since that is what I did back when Blue came out.
@PauloCereda You'll have the advantages of the guides already being online as the in-game documentation is terrible. Half the concepts aren't explained and most of the rest are explained badly.
@PauloCereda Hidden feature allows for Pikachu btw
as a starter.

@Canageek Cool! I might pick him too.
@Canageek Interesting!
@AlanMunn: what's your starter Pokémon? :)

8:22 PM
@PauloCereda he's too busy reading my manual to bother with such frivolities

@DavidCarlisle :)

@DavidCarlisle That will keep him quiet for a couple of years

@PauloCereda i caught one but no idea which, i was just checking it looked vaguely safe to let the boy install it

@DavidCarlisle oh my! What does he look like? :)

@PauloCereda the boy looks vaguely human, the pokemon looked less so

@DavidCarlisle I meant the Pokémon. :)

@PauloCereda don't remember, it was sat on my keyboard at work so i threw a ball thing and put the phone back in my pocket.... Of course at school if you don't own a phone and have caught (or claimed to have caught) thousands of the things, you are a social outcast

Remembering the times. :) Me playing Pokémon Y on my 3DS, while going to SP. :)

@PauloCereda I never had any such games so only thing I know about pokemon is the information in the first couple of screens when it said one would appear and you had to throw things at it.

@DavidCarlisle Yep. :) In the first version of the game, there was a safari zone where you had to throw rocks at Pokémon. :)

@DavidCarlisle Probably Charmander, if it was orange.

@PauloCereda I got Pikachu and then stopped because the others were too easy.

@DavidCarlisle I was in grade 5 when the first game came out. I knew someone who could sing the Pokerap with all 150 pokemon in it.

@egreg I read very fast. And accurately, did I mention accurately?
