12:30 AM
@JosephWright is this our doing? /usr/local/texlive/2015/bin/x86_64-cygwin/tlmgr: (make_container latex.r37789.tar.xz) texmf-dist/tex/latex/base/texsys.cfg does not exist

1:02 AM
@Johannes_B: ^^ :)

5 hours later…
6:17 AM
@DavidCarlisle No
@DavidCarlisle I've checked my local base install, the TL update and on CTAN, and all is well
@DavidCarlisle The fix for ctex didn't make the update cycle so it will be tonight/early tomorrow before people get it
@DavidCarlisle Luckily that's only luatexbase, of course

6:45 AM
@DavidCarlisle Only case I can find in TL: I'll make a pull request

7:23 AM
@PauloCereda Hihi

8:05 AM
@ChristianHupfer I completely fail to see the use in the random label question. Do you get it?

@Johannes_B The use? No it's useless, but I learned something again about the internals of LaTeX ;-) That was my use :D

@ChristianHupfer Learning stuff is good. ;-)
@ChristianHupfer I often fail to see the point in questions of the OP. I think there was one i did understand after just one comment asking for information.

@Johannes_B "Lernen ist sexy"

@ChristianHupfer Is that written on a bathroom wall? :-p

@Johannes_B Yes, that particular O.P. is a pain in the ... neck
@Johannes_B No, on all walls in our appartement :D

8:09 AM
@ChristianHupfer Wouldn't put it that way, but ...
@ChristianHupfer I thought you were living in your own house?

@Johannes_B ... but you would agree ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Well, ehm, ... i guess.

@Johannes_B No, not yet. I have plans to do some constructions in my parental home but my father refuses things to get settled :-(

@ChristianHupfer Fathers tend to do that sometimes.

@Johannes_B Yes... my late mother was the opposite -- doing renovations all the time, having plans for this and that... it would be much easier if she would be still alive :-( :-(

8:13 AM
@ChristianHupfer tex.stackexchange.com/questions/269228/… tabular seems to be much better.
@ChristianHupfer Oh, sorry to hear.
tabular not ust, because the paracol solution lead to two other question.

@Johannes_B Too easy
@Johannes_B Thanks, but no worries. She died more than five years ago

@ChristianHupfer By the way, have you read the template confusion stuff yet?

@Johannes_B No, did I miss something? You know, I was on vacation recently and missed about three weeks of TeX.SX

@ChristianHupfer I have sent you a fb message.

@Johannes_B: Ok, I'll check
@Johannes_B: Ah, well written. But do you think that github is the right place for this? It's more of a blog, in my point of view. Perhaps you should repost it on TeX.SX blog?

8:27 AM
@ChristianHupfer Not done yet, waiting for input of barbara. Not satisfied with it. It is a statement, summing up some key points. But it lacks the What can we do to improve the situation part, which is kind of the base idea of the whole thing.

@Johannes_B: Anyway, I starred it and will follow it... forking it and push it to master ;-)

8:48 AM
@JosephWright "no" OK I'll ignore it then, I may have had a local copy somewhere messing it up, it all seems to work, shame the patch level release didn't make it:(

@DavidCarlisle That only affects latexrelease, it's the luatexbase change that was really a bit more urgent
@DavidCarlisle Will land tonight

@JosephWright ah yes. also there is my pull request to luaotfload not to load luatexbase, do you think we should just edit directly or ping them on the pull request, I'm a bit wary of over-using that write access on code I don't fully understand... github.com/lualatex/luaotfload/pulls

@DavidCarlisle Ping

9:24 AM
@JosephWright pong

@Joseph, @David: Ping pong! :)

@JosephWright was just looking at that pull request of mine, it was trying to be ultra conservative and use luatexbase in plain, but now that's just a wrapper around ltluatex it would probably make sense to never load luatexbase and just use ltluatex from luaotfload

@PauloCereda @JosephWright @DavidCarlisle: Those ping and pongs cause paing pain ;-)

@ChristianHupfer das Tischtennis! :)

@PauloCereda Very good ... das Tischtennis

9:30 AM
@ChristianHupfer did I get that right?! Spooky! :)

@DavidCarlisle Yes

@PauloCereda Yes, it was correct. A+ in my grading table :D

@ChristianHupfer Oh no! :)

@DavidCarlisle Ideally over time we can get use of luatexbase down

Let me try updating LaTeX. :)

9:31 AM
@egreg Should be fine

@JosephWright I'll be testing it on my lecture notes in a minute.

@egreg Three issues known, all fixed already on CTAN
@egreg Writing in Chinese?

Quiet calm on TeX.SX today... It's Saturday, I know, but... ok. we've got our National Holiday today in Germany

@JosephWright Not yet.

@JosephWright How do you withdraw a pull request, or do you just leave it and not pull it?

9:33 AM
Joseph Wright has added an event to this room's schedule.

@DavidCarlisle Close it
@DavidCarlisle Also best to delete the branch (assuming you didn't do the pull request from master)

@JosephWright ah from the lualatex side, rather than withdraw it from the repo it was generated from

@DavidCarlisle Yes

@JosephWright not sure, was just feeling my way at the time:-)

\edef\fmtversion{2015/10/01}

9:49 AM
ooh someone in the chatroom likes trains! :)
@Psi: ^^ :)

10:11 AM
@PauloCereda I like them! They're like time machines! Yesterday, I had gone for the 18:59 train and caught the 18:29 one which was running with a 26 minute delay, so I arrived four minutes before schedule. ;-)

@egreg ooh! :)

10:53 AM
Hi!!! Ihave written the following code:
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{graphicx}

\title{gr}
\author{}
\date{October 2015}

\begin{document}

\begin{frame}
\titlepage
\begin{figure}
\central
\includegraphics[scale=0.35]{circle.png}
\end{figure}

\end{document}
How can I delete the line and "height" ? @egreg @DavidCarlisle

@evinda To be honest, this is quite weird code.

@evinda Sorry, but the document is really wrongly written.

@evinda Surely this "height" is part of the image.

How could I improve the code?

@evinda There is no frame environment in the article class; so at least \begin{frame}` should be removed. Also \central is not defined.

10:58 AM
@evinda Either use \maketitle or the titlepage environment. Don't use the figure environment on a titlepage.

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}
\usepackage{graphicx}

\title{gr}
\author{}
\date{October 2015}

\begin{document}

\maketitle
\begin{figure}
\central
\includegraphics[scale=0.35]{circle.png}
\end{figure}

\end{document}

@Johannes_B @ChristianHupfer of course the tabular version is much better (and written by me :p)

I made some changements... How can I define \central?

@evinda It depends on what you want it to do. You are probably mistaking it for \centering.

@evinda it's not really polite to ping people like that, but fix the syntax errors, the output if you have an error is arbitrary, tex does not try to make sensible pdf after an error.

11:15 AM
@RomainPicot But I've got the tick :-P

@ChristianHupfer populist badge coming? :-P

@ChristianHupfer Had a delicious meal: Spätzle with some sort of ragout made of mushrooms, onions and chopped beef heart.
@evinda Instead of posting confusing code, it would be better to just say what you want to achieve. Maybe even ask a question on site.

@Johannes_B delicious ended at the point where you mentioned beef heart

@ChristianHupfer It is tasty, you can believe me, trust me.

@RomainPicot Romain 'Populiste' Picot... mais oui ... I've upvoted already, so others should upvote your post there and I need 11 upvotes before you are a 'Populist' ;-)
@Johannes_B I don't eat liver, heart, kidneys, lung, stomach or brain ...

11:32 AM
@ChristianHupfer I can dream ;-)

11:49 AM
@ChristianHupfer Never tried kineys, lung or stomach. And i won't eat brain, i am not a zombie.

@Johannes_B Better, don't eat dead bodies ;-)

@HarishKumar Eating alive bodies isn't the way to go either :-p

@Johannes_B Oh no! I never suspected that you will think like this. So change the sentence: Don't eat bodies.
:)

@HarishKumar :-)

@Johannes_B Being a vegetarian is a good way of life. :)

11:57 AM
Just wondering how many zombie questions are on the SE-network.
@HarishKumar Completely without meat? naaah

@Johannes_B: Yes, without even egg. Nothing bad happens. I am the example. But I should accept that I am brought up this way. So may be difficult for others who practised eating meat.

@Johannes_B There's a Brazilian band with a song named Vegetarian cannibal eats carnivore plant. It hurts my brain. :)

@HarishKumar What about milk?
@PauloCereda What's the real name? google returned nothing.

@Johannes_B It's in Portuguese. :) Hold on!

@Johannes_B Milk is not counted as non vegetarian in our way of life. So we use it.

12:01 PM
@HarishKumar Fish is also off-limits i guess?

@Johannes_B Yes. Except milk count every thing outside. :)

@Harish: I still eat meat, but I am very open to non-meat dishes. I reduced my meat consumption by half in the last months. :)

@PauloCereda It is really hard to be a german when browsing Youtube. GEMA doesn't want me to have fun. :-(

@Johannes_B Since we use milk, cow is respected as mother. We call cow as Gomatha, matha meaning mother and go means cow.

12:04 PM
@JosephWright shouldn't we have "log", in texio_write_nl("Lua-only attribute " .. name .. " = " .. and similar?

@PauloCereda Journey towards health :)

@Johannes_B Oh my! look for Canibal vegetariano devora planta carnívora, from a band named Engenheiros do Hawaii. :)

@HarishKumar I should eat more healthy.

@Harish: it's a preparation for the day I visit @Joseph, @cfr and you. :)

@Johannes_B That is only relative though. Meat eating people will say that eating meat is more energetic than vegetables. (I have such people in my neighbourhood here) :-) . Nevertheless, just think of steroids contained in the meat. :)
@PauloCereda Wow. When?

12:09 PM
@PauloCereda Found a live version along with the lyrics. Quite nice :-)

@Johannes_B @PauloCereda See you guys, I have to take my son to skating class. Will be back after 2 hours.

@HarishKumar I bet for the average person, you can live non-carnivor. :-) But i would miss meat i think.
@HarishKumar See you

Q: Measuring mass in kilogram

user276483The body masses of babies are measured and recored at the hospitals.A baby weighed 3kg at the time of birth. She weighed 5kg after one month. By how many kg has the baby grown?

@HarishKumar Have a great weekend, Harish!
@HarishKumar Some day. :)

@yo' The question even got an answer. I wonder if/how many upvotes it gets.

1:00 PM
@HarishKumar Ice skating? ;-)

cfr
@HarishKumar I was n ot brought up this way, but it is not at all difficult to be vegetarian. Vegan is more of a challenge. (It is OK at home but now I live with my parents, who eat meat, and it is harder. And eating out is more difficult - I miss dessert.)

@RomainPicot Say: 'Have a dream' ;-)

@ChristianHupfer of course

According to this question it requires a PhD to install vanilla TL on ubuntu? :D
0
Q: Installing latex standalone in ubuntu for humans

JoaoUbuntu is the most popular Linux flavour around, Latex is the gold standard for scientific writing and printing a standalone figure, table, whatever should be a nobrainer. And yet, installing the standalone package in Ubuntu is a Kafkian endeavour. I've browsed through a dozen webpages suggesti...

@ChristianHupfer I don't have a PhD yet how can I do this? :'(

1:15 PM
@RomainPicot I don't know. My PhD is pre-Ubuntu ;-)

@ChristianHupfer should be very different than installing on raspabian (debian modified for raspberry pi) because I'm doing it and I've any trouble

@RomainPicot: I've installed ubuntu two years ago on a notebook and ./install-tl --gui=perltk is a piece of cake there
@RomainPicot Ah, rasperry pi... I've considered to get it working with my pupils in a science project, for measuring ... thingies

@ChristianHupfer I've buy one to play a little with it, for around 60€ you may have some kits and their is some nice project on instructables.com if you don't know what to do with it

1:32 PM
@RomainPicot I'll see -- I've got 90 minutes per week to do a project.

@ChristianHupfer Age of pupils?

@RomainPicot 17, 18 years... with knowledge of programming (and physics and maths because I teach them :D ... joke)

@ChristianHupfer lot of possibilities: a weather station, an aeroponic station, a MAME station, ...

@RomainPicot: MAME?

@ChristianHupfer mame.net
@ChristianHupfer an Arcade station that can emulate old games :-P

1:43 PM
@RomainPicot ooh an aeroponic MAME station with weather features. :)

@RomainPicot Ah, thanks... arcade games ... :D Well, I'll have problems to get permission from my school principal. The whole stuff is a 'public relation concern' and has public outreach

@PauloCereda there is some come in my sentence :-)
@ChristianHupfer what about a gaming machine with all games made by students? (I love games)

@RomainPicot Oh yes, we could make a trip to Paris then, paying you a visit. Can you provide beds for about 10 persons? ;-)

@ChristianHupfer You could stack them up. :)

@PauloCereda \usepackage{stackengine} then? :D

1:50 PM
@ChristianHupfer ooh yes

@ChristianHupfer or you may not follow my idea :-P

@RomainPicot Coward :D

@DavidCarlisle Another luatexbase release now or wait a few hours?
@PauloCereda Travis now working very smoothly (I'm sure @SeanAllred also approves)

@ChristianHupfer without all the gaming possibility, there is several project that I've seen that use raspberry pi and could be done by students

@JosephWright boo :)

1:54 PM
@PauloCereda, @SeanAllred Of course, now I have to make good on the promise to write a TUGboat

@JosephWright Mind if I suggest you to include honorable mentions to Travis-like services? :)

@PauloCereda, @DavidCarlisle The weird issue with fonts got tracked down: there's a file from fontforge in the context bundle that is needed
@PauloCereda Of course

@JosephWright oooh

@PauloCereda My plan is to talk in general about testing, then say 'there are ways of doing it', then say 'we've gone with Travis as it's hosted, free for open projects and I'd heard of it' (or words to that effect)

@JosephWright Awesome. :)
@JosephWright oooooh

1:57 PM
In other news, I now have a copy of @Nicola's new book

You are good to track things down!
@JosephWright Admin book?

@PauloCereda Qing Lee worked it out
@PauloCereda Yes: it's big

@JosephWright I know. :) And heavily arara-based. :)

@RomainPicot I'll give you feedback

@PauloCereda You read it?

1:58 PM
@JosephWright Maybe. :) /blushes

@PauloCereda I have

@JosephWright uh-oh!
/runs

@PauloCereda Same to you.

@Joseph: Nicola uses the new features of 4.0 in some examples, :)
@HarishKumar Yay skating!

@egreg No ice only skating :). Roller skating since you people took all ice from earth ;)

2:00 PM
@PauloCereda Yup

@cfr: I know that feeling. I used to live only on curd rice quite often under such situations :)
@PauloCereda Hurray!

@HarishKumar :)

@PauloCereda I'm getting very adept at resetting my local VM for testing

@JosephWright so you told Petra I can't count:-)

@DavidCarlisle :-)
We've got to 96 stars

2:08 PM
@JosephWright do you think its ok to use ` texio_write_nl("log",` everywhere in ltluatex, or should we define a local function like function luatexbase_warning that does just that?
@JosephWright ?

@DavidCarlisle I guess should be a local function
@DavidCarlisle On GitHub for LaTeX3

@JosephWright ah I looked on github for luatexbase:-)
@JosephWright in svn as PL2 but only push it out if something else turns up?

@DavidCarlisle Yes, more of a 'natural development' than anything urgent

@JosephWright OK will do that now.

@JosephWright Ouch, do you think it's worth?
Some people can make you feel really bad. :(

2:15 PM
@PauloCereda Yes, I saw taht
@PauloCereda Huh?

@JosephWright Reset the VM thingy. :)

@PauloCereda Most of the time, no, but it's very fast
@PauloCereda As I'm only checking that TL has been 'reset' it's enough to remove the install dir and the settings

2:33 PM
@JosephWright probably we want to say the new behaviour is current (string format) but I wonder if that means luatexbase emulation ought to do something different...

@DavidCarlisle Certainly agree that what we've got makes sense :-)

Apparently 'El capitan' causes muchos problemos ;-)
10

@ChristianHupfer si si!

2:48 PM
@ChristianHupfer You want to try updating LaTeX

@JosephWright Huh????

@ChristianHupfer We've just updated the format

@JosephWright latex.ltx?

@ChristianHupfer Yes

@JosephWright Well, what will I see then when I update the format? @PauloCereda ;-)

2:51 PM
@ChristianHupfer Hopefully most end users won't notice!

@JosephWright I am an end user too... I'll wait until it's on TL

@ChristianHupfer you'll get a format that's already out of date:-)

@ChristianHupfer It is if you update with tlmgr

@ChristianHupfer it is

@DavidCarlisle No, latex.ltx is OK

2:54 PM
@DavidCarlisle @JosephWright: Oh, you mean that... I've updated this morning already. I was confused, I thought you meant you updated some minutes ago

@JosephWright details but \patch@level is in latex.ltx :-)

@DavidCarlisle Fair enough

@JosephWright @DavidCarlisle: No worries, my normal *.tex stuff (for my lectures/lessons in school) compiles as usual, I've not done other thingies today (apart from answering some questions.) What's new in the format?

@ChristianHupfer luatex stuff
@ChristianHupfer oh and 52 rather than 18 floats by default and Welsh accents for @cfr

@DavidCarlisle luatex -- command not found

3:03 PM
@Davi
@DavidCarlisle, this 18 float limit has caused me some extra work recently. Because I tried to insert 50 floats in a row...hehehe

@DavidCarlisle: Since I usually don't use floats I never noticed that the limit was so low :D

Well, this time I wanted a portfolio with 120+ floats and counting. No text.
(Just captions, though.)

@Joseph Don't use floats, you don't want them anyway. Package capt-of gives you captions.

3:21 PM
@ChristianHupfer that's 18 in the stack of pending floats, you can have more than that in the document.

user image

^^ math people at their best. :) @percusse

@Joseph you can use \extrafloats{1000} and have a thousand if you want (that's been available sine the 2015/01/01 release) although as @Johannes_B says you shouldn't be using floats most likely:-)

@DavidCarlisle Ah... well, my stack of pending floats apparently had a length of one or -1 ;-)
@PauloCereda LOL

3:47 PM
@PauloCereda Some people should be banned from greek character usage
Who would use those nonsense together if they are not math wannabees?
especially \Sigma_j is my favorite being not a sum
of course took me half an hour to notice

4:13 PM
@percusse -- you will probably appreciate that the math reviews review was not too favorable either. to quote (hope this is considered "fair use"): "Although the authors are successful in their numerical experiments, the question is, how realistic is the statement of the problem? ... Moreover, the authors, attracted by the optimization problem, forget to check how robust the design is and how the eigenvalues are perturbed by data perturbations."

4:30 PM
@JosephWright yes that's what I meant.

@DavidCarlisle :-)

@barbarabeeton Wait, math reviews had a review for this paper?
Funny thing is that the most complaining person is a very close greek friend of mine :)

@percusse -- yes, they did. MR0981718 (89m:93033), reviewed in 1989, by Andrzej Świerniak. actually, i've seen `\Sigma

@barbarabeeton Wow, that's great. Can I find the review online? Actually, their content is pretty OK (if one can decipher the notation).
This is kind of the state-of-art solution to what has been called since the 60s pole placement problem.
which I am now porting to Python

(to continue what was interrupted by a typo) actually, i've seen \Sigma used in journal articles published by ams, and, as long as it's clearly defined, nobody on the editorial staff here is going to complain. if there's any confusion between \sum and \Sigma, there would be author queries. but even \sum \Sigma passes muster. the shapes are distinctive.

4:43 PM
@barbarabeeton Sure, on a pure theoretical basis these are all correct. However, using \Sigma and \Xi and with subscripts is just shows the authors' Russianness :P

@percusse -- you need access to mathscinet to be able to see it, but if you have that, just look up by the two authors; it's the only joint paper found by the search.
@percusse -- somehow "ralph byers" and "stephen g. nash" don't sound russian to me. but that could be common notation in their field. (with which i'm also not familiar.)

@percusse That's a very unfortunate notation indeed.

the subject classifications assigned are 93B60 (65K05 93B35) and the classification list is open to all. all very much applied areas.

@barbarabeeton It's an insider joke for very difficult notation regardless of the content :)
Somehow, it's a cultural thing

@percusse -- all chinese to me ...

4:47 PM
@barbarabeeton Perfect I'll go and check now.
@barbarabeeton hahah, fair enough
@egreg Fortunately, I know what they mean now after some coffee drinking frenzy :)
Anyways, back to work. Thank you very much

@percusse -- or maybe outer mongolian. (i've learned to unravel most "western" alphabets, and am working on arabic. i can find things in a chinese or japanese dictionary, provided it's ordered by radical. doesn't mean i know what anything means, of course.)

5:02 PM
Dupe by the same O.P. within one day?

Q: add line number to the algorithm2e

Mr AskerHow can I line number to my algorithm. I want to write line number in th front of the algorithm line. How can I get that with the \usepackage[ruled]{algorithm2e}? @ChristianHupfer seems for me

@ChristianHupfer Don't comment the vpsace, i put it there.

@Johannes_B: :D :D I keep my comment :-P
Renaming El Capitan to El Cajon could be nice name strategy ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Yes, keep it. First the OP posts a question with some text from an online journal (of course without any citation). Ok good, i remove it with blindtext. No the solution i gave him lands here as a starting point for a new question which apparently is a dupe of a question he asked yesterday. What is going on?
<accent=indian>What is going on, is ask?</accent>

@Johannes_B I don't know. He accepted Werner's answer as working -- and it's basically the same stuff. The point is that \nl works out of the box if the stuff inside algorithm environment is correctly set

5:14 PM
@ChristianHupfer How about El Kabong? It's Quick Draw McGraw's alter ego. :)
In certain cases, Quick Draw would also assume the identity of the masked vigilante El Kabong (a spoof of Zorro, known in the Spanish-dubbed version as "El Caba-Zorro" or "El Relámpago"). His introduction went as follows – "Of all the heroes in legend and song, there's none as brave as El Kabong" – As El Kabong, Quick Draw would attack his foes by swooping down on a rope with the war cry "OLAYYYYEEEE!" and hitting them on the head with an acoustic guitar (after shouting "KABOOOOOONG!") which is always referred to as a "kabonger", producing a distinctive kabong sound and usually destroying t

@PauloCereda A guitar playing horse?

@ChristianHupfer o.O

@PauloCereda How unrealistic. I prefer real heros like Spiderman, The Flash, Darth Vader (:D)

@ChristianHupfer boo :)
El Kabong should teach you a lesson with his kabonger. :P

@PauloCereda \guitarbreak ;-)

5:19 PM
@ChristianHupfer I can bet that user's next question will be about algorithm... (any variation thereof). ;-)

@ChristianHupfer second crosspost by this user. well, that i found.

@egreg I nominate that user to get the

@ChristianHupfer No, the gold badge for that has already been assigned to user M*si.

@egreg How mean :D And I am not speaking of a golden badge... Platin!

@ChristianHupfer I masked off the name. ;-)
2

5:23 PM
@egreg Hardly recognizable now :D

@ChristianHupfer Eigentlich wollte ich mich ja nicht mehr aufregen. Aber sowas regt mich auf!
@ChristianHupfer by the way, what is the state of the question concerning the spaces?

@Johannes_B Well, that's perhaps one reason why I am not active on golatex, LC etc.

@ChristianHupfer i think you are missing the word not?

@Johannes_B Jep
@Johannes_B Which space question?

@ChristianHupfer Turns out @egreg and i had the very same thought.

@Johannes_B Ah, yes, I saw that question, but I did not take action there

@Johannes_B This can be nominated for the “most unclear question of the year” contest.

@JosephWright Same user, two problems, three question. Something should be done: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/270842/… tex.stackexchange.com/questions/270920/… tex.stackexchange.com/questions/270778/… (with respect of duping)
@ChristianHupfer @egreg ^^^^

@egreg: No close hammer for include and sectioning? :D

@ChristianHupfer No. :(

@egreg What a pity ... How can we comfort you? ;-)
@RomainPicot: Answered just before it gets closed? ;-) The 31_bin_rep approaches :D

5:35 PM
@ChristianHupfer Read the question and the comments, do you understand it?

@Johannes_B Yes, of course. I understand all of M*si's questions right from the start ;-)

@ChristianHupfer Fix me some votes in so I can get my 45th gold badge. ;-)

@egreg I can't give you 999 votes :D

@ChristianHupfer I've answered and after see the comment for possible duplicate from @egreg (and the comment answer too). But yes it is a duplicate after seeing the link from egreg

@ChristianHupfer Well, actually I need only 18, but also other 13 answers.

5:38 PM
@egreg Let me see, I've some votes left, but I have to spread them of course, over some days

@ChristianHupfer Oh, don't worry: there's the session tonight.

@Johannes_B Seems not.

@Johannes_B Similar but the O.P. changed the question and did some completely different. He should rather have used the substances mentioned in the post ;-)

@egreg unsure either. The problem behind all that is the same of course.
@ChristianHupfer Naughty boy. :-p

5:41 PM
@Johannes_B don't think but I'm not sure about what the OP want. For me we have the same possible answers with newline feature

@Johannes_B You see, it's difficult to judge M*si's questions.

@Johannes_B I am evil, you know. I am an avid close voter and deleter...
@egreg: I wonder if I will ever get a real gold badge. There's a long way to go so far... :-(

@ChristianHupfer All of them are antibiotics, just checked.

@ChristianHupfer Well, I got 25 gold tag badges, it shouldn't be so difficult…

@ChristianHupfer I got one, the idiot badge.

5:44 PM
@Johannes_B Yes, they should be used against bacteria causing unclear questions

@ChristianHupfer I think it is a langauge barrier.

@egreg Well, I am not you ;-) Of course am lacking a lot of knowledge about TeX's internal setup and that's why you get the ticks etc. And I am active here for two years only.
@Johannes_B He's from Finland, those folks up there do have excellent knowledge in English, normally

@ChristianHupfer You see the english of some germans around. University students.

@Johannes_B: My English isn't really good as well. It was better once when I've been at the Institute, practising every day, but I left university ten years ago and there wasn't much opportunity to speak

@ChristianHupfer Quite good in comparison.
@ChristianHupfer The thing is, nobody speaks a language in a perfect way, and there is no need to. :-)
@ChristianHupfer I seldomly speak english.

5:50 PM
@Johannes_B Reading English texts for studies?

@ChristianHupfer Yes, and this little chat.

@Johannes_B With a lot of English speaking blokes ... and some blokes misusing English like me :D
I've to leave right now. Perhaps I will return to the closing session
Have a nice time

1 hour later…
7:02 PM

Does someone know a question to be duplicate for this one? The probem is that no path is allowed in \usepackage.

Q: Include siunitx package in subdirectory

normanrockwellesqueI am creating a TeX project that uses the siunitx package. I would like to be able to place the siunitx package in a subdirectory, to simplify folder structure and to allow me to easily transfer this project to other computers. I know I can load some packages from subdirectories, but when I try w...

Try!

@DavidCarlisle Seriously? I told all my students they had to use \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} with \input{ix-utf8enc.dfu} as well. Is that no longer true?

@cfr Yup, quite true

cfr
@JosephWright Yes it is true that it is no longer true or Yes it is still quite true?

@cfr We (or rather @DavidCarlisle) added the requested accent to inputenc
