@clemens The thing is, with questions in relation with the template site, the need to provide a minimal working example is zero. The users won't read the linked material, they won't provide a minimal working example. In those cases i ask which template is in use (friggeri-cv as seen in the tags) and just download the zip.
There is a reason for having Thesis.cls 28 times on my machine.
@clemens In the current case, i simply have to change the class file (which is ok according to the license) because i don't have the fonts. It is a very weird thing for me to do and i have done it many times.
12:05
@Johannes_B are you referring to latex-community.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=26627 ? I wasn't aware that the question was about one of Vel's templates! Too bad that on the active topics list you can't see what main forum a question belongs to… :(
12:20
You can see it. `Limiting asidebar to one page.

@StefanKottwitz Why do i see this topic as unread even though i am the last poster? I noticed other examples as well, that i definitely read.
@clemens You probably want to see: LaTeX-Templates there, right?
12:39
Code fonts seem a dime a dozen these days! arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/…
13:04
@Johannes_B Hm, perhaps you posted but did not open the thread after sending the post.
@StefanKottwitz Possible for this one (though unlikely), but there was another thread where i had seen your answer. Would it be possible that you later edited and it got new once more? Why didn't i see it when checking for new posts?
@Johannes_B I saw Curricula Vitae / Résumés (I probably even tagged the question accordingly – I can't remember) but I didn't realize this is a subforum of LaTeX Templates
@clemens Is it possible that the question is not about that specific templat?
13:36
@Johannes_B Hard to say without an MWE :-o perhaps keep screenshots next time if you would see it. I assume there's an explanation.
@StefanKottwitz I seldomly scroll down, i usually just get the new posts with the quick link on the right.

@David Please, is "preserve order of floats" one of the new "features" of L2e?
@yo' You mean the one versus two column business?
yo'
yo'
@JosephWright yep. I'm fine with a "wide" Figure 4 above a "narrow" Figure 3 :)
currently I do this:
\addtocounter{figure}{1}

\begin{figure*} \caption{FOUR} \end{figure*}

\addtocounter{figure}{-2}

\begin{figure} \caption{THREE} \end{figure}

\addtocounter{figure}{1}
But I think we all agree that this should not be the solution :-)
Of course, the right solution is to get xor and its manual float placement control :D

Just arrived home, end of holidays.
Great tour, by the way.

@egreg Welcome back!
@egreg I am so very worried with the game. :(
Well, you were right
17:38
@PauloCereda I have a feeling...
@PauloCereda hmm
@egreg: oh no!
@PauloCereda Happily there's the pause next week
yo'

@PauloCereda you know what? It's better not to follow sports, you can't be disappointed :-)
@yo' They treated us too well in the last four years

@egreg :)
@yo' Indeed. :)
Do we have a generic How to cite online material? question? i couldn't find one.
Am I too geeky if I tell you guys I use VimFx?
:)
yo'
yo'
@PauloCereda is that the FF thingy?
@yo' Yep, vim-like interface for Firefox. :)
@yo' yes fix was in fixlx2e so in the 2015/0/01 release

@DavidCarlisle "fixed" :)
@PauloCereda ah yeah. Well, I know people who use it.

^^ Anybody ever seen this?
@yo' having moved the single col float after the 2-col one, why not just let it be numbered in that order?
yo'
yo'
@DavidCarlisle because that's not what the authors want? :D
@yo' your job is to persuade them of the logic of counting things in ascending order.
yo'
yo'
@DavidCarlisle This is ascending order, to some extent, I just can't put a 1col float above a 2col one on the page :D
Did not find one, wrote a fix answer. Suggestions for improvement enhancement welcome:

A: Definitive advice on BibTeX entries for online material

Johannes_BOver the years, many packages have been written to do some special bibliography stuff. Urls and DOIs became prominent over the years, and some bibliographystyles have added features to actually cite online material. With biblatex we have a modern package that tries to implement all the functuna...

18:30
@yo' previously the 2 col float could have gone anywhere, so you could have figure order 1 2 4 5 6 3 over several pages, hard to argue that wasn't a bug
18:44
@yo' You can find some hits on tex.sx. Normally it is a link broken over pages.
yo'
yo'
@UlrikeFischer yep I see it. It's just that it happened to me now like 10 times in a row during the final typesetting of an issue
19:29
@DavidCarlisle interesting times on the team list :-)
@DavidCarlisle No replies to my missive
yo'
yo'
@DavidCarlisle well, I considered the previous setup too leaky, and the current setup too restrictive, but I'll learn to live with that :-/
@clemens Sorry I didn't see Herbert's name in the Editorial board of DTK... How's he involved?
@yo' He does the editing
Das Editorialboard!
@JosephWright Seen the post on c.t.t. concerning the lost uk-faq?
19:44
@Johannes_B Hadn't checked c.t.t since tea time: have now replied
@JosephWright Thank you very much. :-)
I really like the TeX community.
@Johannes_B I might see if @StefanKottwitz can fix that link: I suspect it might have been valid in the past
@Johannes_B Quack! <3
@PauloCereda Meow
@PauloCereda Saw a baby penguin on TV today: sweeeeeet :-)
@Johannes_B awwwwww <3
19:52
Or rather: soooo cuuuuuute
yo'
yo'
@JosephWright ah! But he isn't mention in "Redaktion" :-(
@yo' He is, inside front cover of DtK for example (on my desk at the moment)
yo'
yo'
@JosephWright ah, but not on the web it seems? dante.de/DTK/Redaktion.html
@yo' Perhaps not
@yo' He writes the editorial, for example
@yo' he's the verantwortliche Redakteur (which means editor in charge, I think)
19:59
@clemens I am so sad, it should be just one word for that. :)
@PauloCereda Chefredakteur (doesn't quite fit I'm afraid but isn't too bad either)
@clemens oooooh
Das Blokewhoischargeoftheeditorialthingyredaktor!
I love German. <3
@Herbert See comments above re: editing status of DTK
@Johannes_B I've followed up with a link to my talk on this
@JosephWright :-)

20:16
@clemens ok, still his name could be within the board :-)
@DavidCarlisle Edits of edits :-)
@JosephWright I refer you to the starred comment on the right....
@DavidCarlisle :-)
@StefanKottwitz Threre's a c.t.t. post today pointing out that the (slightly odd) URL tex.ac.uk/FAQ-.html doesn't currently work for the FAQ. Would it be possible to alias that to the index page?
@yo' it seems the website only lists former editors but not the current ones
@clemens :-)
yo'
yo'
20:33
@clemens don't we call it "outdated"? :)
@yo' :D

@clemens well, my favourite just won a match, a guy who fights cancer just won a tournament named after another guy who died of cancer. It's time to go home and catch some sleep
21:15
Alan Munn news: he's at -92
21:35
@DavidCarlisle Your namesake is very much out of date on how real users get (La)TeX packages
@JosephWright janet ftp from aston
@DavidCarlisle :-)
@DavidCarlisle Before my time!
@JosephWright currently it's LaTeX2e <2015/11/01> pre-release-1 do you think I should pull the format date back to 2015/10/01 throughout the sources (includeinrelease etc) or leave it as /11/ for a while longer (we could even push to ctan as a pre-release-1, and then do a patch level 0 release in november)
@JosephWright using janet ftp was something of an art:-)
@DavidCarlisle I'd stick with the current date for the moment
@JosephWright has the advantage I don't need to do anything:-)
21:49
Oh: a downvote! It's been a while since the last one…
22:21
@JosephWright Sure, I guess tomorrow
oh, tomorrow is today. To get things done, hurry must I.
23:03
Where is the function environment defined? (As seen in l3source for instance.)
@1010011010 l3doc class see l3doc.dtx
