@JosephWright, @DavidCarlisle since you didn't do it, I finally added the new kernel key=val system to the big list: tex.stackexchange.com/a/648785/117050

7:12 AM
@Skillmon thanks

8:01 AM
@StefanKottwitz \chapter{tikz} Obfuscated version of picture mode, see Chapter~\ref{picture}.\endinput

ooh Ulrike is presenting
Did you guys know Germans speak German?!
ooh

@PauloCereda Frühstück

@DavidCarlisle oh no

@PauloCereda Yay!!

@JosephWright I presented (very shortly) the new keyval system

8:14 AM
@UlrikeFischer I was able to understand everything. :)

@UlrikeFischer Thanks :)

@UlrikeFischer Actually, I just understoond that part where the command thingy was written with no S :)

@PauloCereda :)

@JosephWright I am there for the comedic purpose, I suppose :)

@PauloCereda never underestimate the power of a good laugh, though. <3

8:23 AM
@Rmano <3
Speaking of which, a silly talk is on :)

@JosephWright did you see the l3keys question

@DavidCarlisle Yes - I was just having breakfast (after a fasting blood test) - will get to it in a second

Wait, why did no one here remind me that I'm currently missing the DANTE Sommertagung? Usually someone reminds me :(

@JosephWright oh no
@Skillmon oh no! Mr. Rabbit, the Dante thingy is on!
There's a lot of Germans there :)

@PauloCereda and I'm at work :(

8:29 AM
@Skillmon oh no

@DavidCarlisle Comments on my answer welcome

8:50 AM

9:38 AM
Dang, installing TL2022 on Windows with McAfee AV takes a long ass time (2+ hours)

9:50 AM
@JosephWright Allowing package writers to define new properties would open several compatibility problems: suppose packages A and B both define .mycode:n

@egreg Quite

@PauloCereda We were basically invaded by Germans on Wednesday here in aarhus.... Rammstein concert. Once the sun set it was a great show.

10:16 AM
@daleif ooh du hast
:)

10:39 AM

@daleif WOOOOO

as you can see the show looks better in the dark

10:53 AM
@JosephWright if he wants to programmatically add some macro in the front of all of his keys in a single \keys_define:nn call, I'd suggest to use some preprocessing step using \keyval_parse:NNn: \cs_new:Npn \ljr_preproc:nn #1#2 { , \exp_not:n { #1 = { \ljr_functional_stuff_whatever: #2 } } } \cs_new:Npn \ljr_preproc:n #1 { , \exp_not:n {#1} } \keys_define:nx { ljr } { \keyval_parse:NNn \ljr_preproc:n \ljr_preproc:nn { <real-list-of-definitions> } }.
@daleif been so long since I was on a concert... On Sunday I'll see Die Ärzte.

11:13 AM
@Skillmon as you can see on the image there was waaaayyyy to many people there. It took us 40min to get out of our small stadium due to several bottlenecks.

@daleif Wow, cool!

11:26 AM
@PhelypeOleinik I've only ever seen them indoor before. This is something else. The two horns on the green image was light on fire at the end.

11:39 AM
@daleif the week of summer solstice is maybe not the best timing for something which looks better in the dark :P

12:21 PM
@samcarter exactly what the reviews mentioned afterwards. August would probably have been a better month.

12:39 PM

@PauloCereda @samcarter ^^^ new friends

@UlrikeFischer Nice mask! Everybody is safe at Dante :)

1:27 PM
Reading the news of Alexa faking other peoples voices (e.g. arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/06/… ) reminded me of this clip youtube.com/watch?v=mSPhclmRzck

1:57 PM
@daleif That must've been amazing! Shame they don't come to Brazil very often. When they do, you'll know where to find me ;-)

2:14 PM
@UlrikeFischer ooh

@samcarter you solve it the Spanish way, start at 11pm. Which is just in time to have a light dinner before, mind you ;-), especially in week-end.

@Rmano good solution :)

@Rmano la siesta

3:08 PM
Regarding the new key-val interface in the 2022 format, are there global-scope counterparts for .store and .if? Or can I use .bool_gset:N in my l2e package?

@AlexG You can use any standard l3keys property: the '2e-friendly' names are there to allow people not familiar with expl3 to use the new ideas
@AlexG .if is .legacy_if_set:n, BTW, so it's for \newif\if... things

@JosephWright Great! Thank you! I'll start to revise my packages.

3:58 PM
:( no one will use expkv-opt

1 hour later…
6:15 PM
@DavidCarlisle is it on purpose that verbtest.tex ends up in the texmf?

6:31 PM
@Skillmon no, has it always been that way? (Naturally it's a fault in texlive distribution so not our fault)
@Skillmon er, actually we supply a tds.zip file so it might be our fault so I need to correct the above to not my fault

@DavidCarlisle no idea how long it's been this way, just stumbled over it by chance.

@egreg has old texlive easily available I think...

@DavidCarlisle I can go back in time till 2018
@DavidCarlisle can confirm it being there in 2018, have no older TL locally installed.

@Skillmon you'd need to go back pre l3build, but arguably it's like example-input.png and a file available for tests, that is one reading of the doc in verbatim.dtx

I’ll look in a bit at TL’09

2 hours later…
8:20 PM
@DavidCarlisle Up to 2012, on this machine.
@DavidCarlisle verbtest.tex has been forever in the tools subdirectory, I guess.

@egreg Thanks. @Skillmon classified as a feature, I think.

9:25 PM
@egreg I've checked back to 2009 ...

9:43 PM
@JosephWright So you're able to say “not my fault”. ;-)
