4:27 PM
@UlrikeFischer So its Not Our Fault

@JosephWright yet
Out of curiosity, which filesystem do you guys use?
I use EXT4.

@UlrikeFischer Where are we with PDF resources? Is there anything to add to the core yet or is it all still waiting on page resources, hooks, ...
@PauloCereda NTFS, oddly enough

@JosephWright oh
@JosephWright new license for the kernel: github.com/me-shaon/GLWTPL/blob/master/LICENSE :)

@PauloCereda NTFS

@DavidCarlisle Ah Windows. :)

4:36 PM
@PauloCereda Think you were aimed at @DavidCarlisle with that one

@JosephWright Now that you mentioned it, I see some advantages... :)

@JosephWright well the pagesattr, pageattr, info and bdc/properties are imho more less ready to go (I wanted to copy the bdc stuff from the test file in the evening). But they (with the exception of pagesattr) rely all on atbegshi and on zref (for the label), so I don't know if we really can move them.
@JosephWright I'm currently pondering over ExtGState (not so easy to create something that works with dvips too ...), and I'm in need of examples how values to /ColorSpace, /Pattern and /Shading are added with dvips (if at all)

5:06 PM
@PauloCereda ext4 on Laptop, btrfs on mobile.

@UlrikeFischer Ah right
@UlrikeFischer What does pgf do? Colour spaces not supported by other packages I know if (perhaps PSTricks?)
@UlrikeFischer Right, more or less where I thought we were: need hooks, shipout, then can address this

@Skillmon cool. I have one laptop with BTRFS...

@PauloCereda how is it working for you? My mobiles internal storage isn't that big, I have no idea how it performs in a bigger scale.

@JosephWright I don't know, I even don't know if pgf has commands to add special colorspaces instructions with dvips (default stuff) (i found a few "colorspace" in the code but nothing looked like it for me)..

@Skillmon It's... interesting. Actually, two of my laptops have BTRFS. The older one performs nicely, but the newer one has some issues...

5:15 PM
@UlrikeFischer Should I look?

@JosephWright if you have time. Don't you need this for spotcolors anyway?

@UlrikeFischer Yes, but that was purely based on pdfTeX ...
@UlrikeFischer On it
@UlrikeFischer Ah, I remember; I think it is doable but tricky ....
@UlrikeFischer We need a PostScript expert ... perhaps talk to Herbert?

@JosephWright, @DavidCarlisle, it took me some time to realize but there was a simple solution that uses macro as contents of a box:

\def\zBox#1{hello #1}

\newsavebox\zBoxA
\savebox\zBoxA{\zBox{A}} % set box content to macro
\def\zUseBoxA{\usebox\zBoxA}

\newsavebox\zBoxB
\savebox\zBoxB{\zBox{B}} % set box content to macro
\def\zUseBoxB{\usebox\zBoxB}

\noindent\zUseBoxA\newline % still need \noindent (as with \copy and \setbox)
\zUseBoxB

@DavidCarlisle, by the way, you still need \noindent even with \savebox and \usebox.

@JosephWright I can write him. Do you have a short pdflatex example on hand so that I know what the result should be?

@UlrikeFischer I'll work on one a bit later: I'll have to look back at my notes

5:28 PM
@JosephWright around here is something: chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/50335410#50335410, but I need to check, if I have to change something in view of the newer code.

@UlrikeFischer Ah, I did write something :)

6:30 PM
@JosephWright I found an old post mentioning findcmykcustomcolor and setcustomcolor in postscript: computer-programming-forum.com/36-postscript/…. And I found a new document about ICC-profiles with ghostscript, but I don't understand much here ghostscript.com/doc/current/GS9_Color_Management.pdf (and don't know if it is relevant for the postscript to pdf route).

6:59 PM
@PauloCereda APFS on mac, ZFS on a couple file servers I use for backup.

1 hour later…
8:12 PM
@UlrikeFischer Hmm

3 hours later…
10:51 PM
Is it almost midnight in the UK?

@PauloCereda Yes

@JosephWright ooh

@PauloCereda Why is this relevant?

@PauloCereda Why? Anniversary of Treaty of Versaille tomorrow ...

@AlanMunn wait for it :)
@JosephWright hmm

10:53 PM
@PauloCereda @JosephWright This is gonna be bad... ;)

The Treaty of Versailles (French: Traité de Versailles) was the most important of the peace treaties that brought World War I to an end. The Treaty ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed on 28 June 1919 in Versailles, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which had directly led to the war. The other Central Powers on the German side signed separate treaties. Although the armistice, signed on 11 November 1918, ended the actual fighting, it took six months of Allied negotiations at the Paris Peace Conference to conclude the peace...
100 years

@JosephWright Happy birthday!
@AlanMunn ^^ :)

@PauloCereda I withdraw my prediction. :)
@JosephWright Happy Birthday!

@AlanMunn :)

@PauloCereda I was sure you were setting us up for a very bad good pun.

11:02 PM
@AlanMunn oh no what could possibly go wrong :)

@PauloCereda Thanks
@AlanMunn Thanks
@PauloCereda Quack quack QUAACK quaack quack

@JosephWright ooh quack indeed
@JosephWright: @DavidCarlisle will not blame you today. :)

@PauloCereda Hmm

Henry VIII (28 June 1491 – 28 January 1547) was King of England from 1509 until his death in 1547. Henry was the second Tudor monarch, succeeding his father, Henry VII. Henry is best known for his six marriages, in particular his efforts to have his first marriage, to Catherine of Aragon, annulled. His disagreement with the Pope on the question of such an annulment led Henry to initiate the English Reformation, separating the Church of England from papal authority. He appointed himself the Supreme Head of the Church of England and dissolved convents and monasteries, for which he was excommunicated...
@JosephWright ^^^^ ;-) Happy Birthday!

11:44 PM
Happy birthday @JosephWright!

I created an official GitLab mirror of the PGF/TikZ repository: gitlab.com/pgf-tikz/pgf Unfortuantely we're not accepting issues and pull requests there (for now).
