@dessert @AbdullahUYU you can use unicode as well (hyperref should do the right thing if given unicode option but the info shown isn't an issue with the text encoding used, you have badly expanded tex commands there

It was the output I got, i didn't added extra things. And I should say that when I use appropriate chars, I don't get wierd tex commnds, just text. Additionally, as far as I understand there are indeed the chars I want in ASCII, so why I'm experiencing problems? @DavidCarlisle

@AbdullahUYU you have an error in your input (which I don't think you have shown), or need to define the PU (bookmark) encoding of more characters. You would be best to make a small test file and post to the main site (not here in chat) so people can debug, Heiko is there most days and most of the bookmark code is his:-)

Q: Latex error of unknown language that isn't present anymore

jengebI run my Latex file using pdflatex and receive the following error message: ! Package babel Error: Unknown language `american'. Either you have (babel) misspelled its name, it has not been installed, (babel) or you requested it in a previous run. Fix its ...

Off-topic?

@Johannes_B Surely, there is a duplicate somewhere? I run into this regularly, when I change language in a document.
@Johannes_B tex.stackexchange.com/questions/127314/… may not be an exact duplicate, but close enough. (Different error message, same fix.)
But arguably, babel ought to suggest removing the aux file when this occurs. It does suggest rerunning the file, but that won't help if the user bails by typing x.

I have done a beamer slide and i have the outline of contents but they overflow?

@BAYMAX \begin{frame}[allowframebreaks] might help.

@BAYMAX -- are the duplicate entries necessary? (i see only two of them, so allowing breaks might still be needed.)

@barbarabeeton poked by mail. :)

@PauloCereda no need: I just put some % at ends of lines in the document.
