@PauloCereda My BIOS just warned me that continuing would cause me to fail Windows 8 Certification. It doesn't know the half of it. (Oddly, it didn't complain about my deleting the Windows boot loader. Apparently, you can pass as Windows Certified even without a computer capable of booting Windows. At least, I certainly hadn't offered it an alternative method.) I really don't understand why my BIOS lists so many disks I don't have. I suppose it likes to dream ....

@PauloCereda Will be in shit if the thing won't boot Arch, of course. But, then, I'll be in dire straits in that case anyway and having Windows would hardly help any.

Did something happen to \l_file_internal_name_tl? (Name may not be perfectly correct - this is from memory.) Trying to figure out where I got it from and what's happened to it.

The vertical distance between the symbol and a \widetilde is rather large in \scriptstyle. Is there an easy way to make it smaller?

Consider e.g. $\widetilde{ev}\widetilde{ab} \scriptstyle\widetilde{ev}\widetilde{ab}$

@DavidCarlisle @JosephWright They have on page 209 in figure 3 an \input otf-math. This file obviously defines a few commands like \OMtrm and \OMmath but it not clear how they define this commands, the text refer only to unicode-math.

@UlrikeFischer -- what you've got there is indeed ugly! looks like an entirely different font than what's printed. (but it's not cmtt in any event; it was run with xelatex, and used a separate macro file prepared by the author, that i never downloaded -- karl did the production work. i'll let him know.)

@barbarabeeton But as I wrote later: in the adobe reader (and also in sumatra) it looks fine (as far as I can say it regarding all the curious symbols used ;-)), it is only in the browser plug-in that it looks wrong.

@UlrikeFischer -- more info. i'm checking the tug production directory, and in the pertinent area i see a list of five fonts: UbuntuMono-X.ttf (where X = B. BI. R. and RI) and UbuStereo-Regular.ttf. i'm not familiar with those fonts, but the "Mono" sounds suspicious, and we know that the \tt in the article is not cm. i haven't checked the pdf to see what fonts are used. but i'm glad to know that sumatra shows them okay; i use adobe reader to check copy, and as you confirm, they're okay there.

Hi, if I want to use \usepackage{splitidx} in lualatex, do I have to run a tool like splitindex.pl manually, or will lualatex do it for me?

Short question: I was using for a long time \hfill \cite{key} at the end of a "quote" environment to print the reference on the right. I now use memoir class and it has a \sourceatright command which does the same. Do I have any reason to change all my hfill commands to \sourceatright or is it exactly the same behavior behind?

@JonasStein texdoc splitindex sugests you don't need the perl version as there is a lua implementation (top of page 4) never used any version of that package though so I can't say much about it:-)

@ppr not looked at \sourceright but certainly zzz\hfill \cite{key} isn't guaranteed to put the citation at the right, so you may want to change.
