@Caramdir, @MartinScharrer: Welcome to the new room.

I may have been a bit presumptive. We seemed to be settling on launchpad, so I went and had a look at it to see how easy it would be to set things up.

I don't really mind. Might be a good way to learn bzr.

I think you can import/export between bzr and other DCVS like hg, so you could use hg as your local manager and then just push/pull from the remote host.

Yes, you can, but as soon as you have a lot of branch the mess starts.

6:25 PM
Never tried it. Bzr basics aren't too hard to learn (once you unlearn the assumptions of svn)

@AndrewStacey I assume that you are loopspace?

@Caramdir Seemed appropriate, given my line of research: math.ntnu.no/~stacey/Research/Papers
I created a "team": launchpad.net/~tex-sx

6:40 PM
So, how should we do it?
I was planning to start with my labeled grid implementation: meta.tex.stackexchange.com/questions/1220/…
The code is mostly done already. It needs some polishing, code and user documentation.

The code for drawing on pictures is only missing the grid (and documentation).

@Caramdir: Yes, this two things could be connected.

In the LPPL compatible with CC-BY-SA?

How do you plan the user interface for it? I thought about an environment which takes the image path as argument and awaits the drawing commands inside it. Could be made aware if it is used inside tikzpicture to create a scope only while it will create an own tikzpicture outside.
@Caramdir No idea.

@MartinScharrer I thought the same, see the example at gist.github.com/899107
@MartinScharrer The problem with awareness is that inside a tikzpicture one would need to specify the location.
@MartinScharrer Well, I guess it is safest to just ask for permission to reuse any code.

6:54 PM
@Caramdir: Looks good. I'm planning to allow for different grids in my solution so that it can also print 0-100%. Then your code would only have to use it.
@Caramdir Good idea. I don't think people have something against it. We should of course credit them in the packages.

I just realized that there already are step, x step and y step options for the default grid. Maybe it is possible to reuse those.

@Caramdir Yes, I was planning to do so. Changing the labels is the most work.

Branching: bzr branch lp:tex-sx
Pushing: bzr push lp:tex-sx
I just pushed an empty ChangeLog file to test the system.

7:16 PM
@AndrewStacey: Thank you.

How are we going to organise this? Should the different answers start in their own files first (unless there are really obvious ones that should go together)?

We should at least split between PGF and TikZ
