Having an online resource to search through certainly does help though ;)

Sorry, @TheLethalCarrot - FGITW strikes again! Yours shows a greater familiarity with the books and show - tossed you an upvote ;). But the HNQ crowd seems to prefer my answer (which may have to do with it being accepted).

I enjoy the challenge of finding an answer to a question on a topic I know nothing about, but sometimes other people provide better answers :p

Do you consider it successful if someone else provides a better answer? Surely you only succeed when the answer on a topic you know nothing about is the best answer?

It wasn't unsuccessful - the score and checkmark affirm that. It just wasn't as successful as it could have been :|

Well given you'd gotten the complete wrong continuity, I'd hardly say it was successful, merely fortunately received.

I wouldn't call it a 'passing comment'; it was a (admittedly terse) whole paragraph ;)

Having a paragraph to itself doesn't alter it's state as a passing comment.

How tf did my random IPS question hit HNQ... I'm not sure I like this. Now I have to at least pay some attention to it beyond accepting an answer.

@Möoz no, I popped in here to say that TLC provided a better answer. While I enjoyed the challenge, and was not unsatisfied with my answer, TLC gave a better answer, and that's what I came in here to say.

Let me rephrase that. Half the IPS questions get closed. The half that don't all become HNQ :P

My interpersonal skills can be, uh, lacking.

So, just to restate...

I'd like to say that I think that while I'm not unsatisfied with my answer to the question about Arya, @TheLethalCarrot provided a better answer than mine, displaying a much higher level of familiarity and knowledge of the universe in question. While my answer is leading by score, thanks to the HNQ, it should be the other way around.

I enjoyed the challenge of researching an answer, but you can't really beat an intimate knowledge of the universe.

And I've now added A Song of Ice and Fire: A Game of Thrones to my list of books to read. We'll see how long it takes to actually get it ;)

@Edlothiad I prefer not to use pirated versions - they're more likely to have malware and stuff attached to it.

That's not to say that I won't use the occasional PDF, but I don't like that as a permanent solution :P
