> One of the more bizarre Apple patents we’ve seen in quite some time details a method by which a user would be able to control functions on an Apple Watch or iPhone merely by blowing on it.
Reminds me of the Nintendo DS. Many games allowed you to blow air to do things (like blow out virtual candles). Would be cool if they could add breathalyzer functionality or something like that.
My prediction for the event: iPad, Apple Pencil, AirTags, iMac with M1. In that order.
Although it doesn't make sense to have an iPad and an iMac with the same chip

Well i was wrong
kinda think the imac is ugly ngl

If I can backup my 2 TB iPad Pro with an M1 chip to iCloud, why still can't I backup my Mac to iCloud?

Q: New Cookie Dialog on SE Websites, iPhone only

DavidSupportsMonicaiPhone SE (first generation), iOS 14.4.2 (18D70), iOS Safari I have regularly used this phone to browse the SE sites in which I'm interested: Travel, Expatriates, Mechanics, Home Improvement, and Ask Different. The phone's now running 14.4.2; over the past months I've updated it promptly as new v...

Only it's not iPhone only unfortunately, I get that in all browswers, on all devices
@JBis Well, the new iMac looks like just a display now, it's not obvious at all that there is a computer inside. Not sure why they didn't go all the way and got ride of the large bezel at the bottom

@nohillside Yeah I'm not sure either. I guess with gray it's ok. I think the colors are ugly.

They are a nice touch. Maybe not for oldtimers like us :-) But like the colorful iPhone 12 there might be an interest nevertheless.

Speaking of touch, the cheapest iMac doesn't come with touch id keyboard

It also has a slightly slower CPU, smaller SSD etc.

I was surprised how cheap the AirTags ($29). I think thats a good price. Not sure I'll use them tho. From what I heard, if an airtag that you don't own is following you, you'll get an alert you are being tracked (so I can't stick an airtag in your bag and track you around), but what if the person being tracked doesn't have an iPhone or any apple device?

7:21 PM
Yeah, might be problem then. I'm sure people will test this very soon in real life.

@nohillside, I figured it had to have been asked somewhere on the Stack Exchange network, just hadn't looked, so thanks for the link. From what I gleaned so far, I'm just going to have to keep answering the dialog box every week until SE fixes this ridiculous nuisance!

7:52 PM
@jbis Ah, the bezel was kind of explained at the event. They hide the 6 speakers in there, and some other „best ever“ stuff

Does anyone know if it's worth buying Parallels 16 now? Am I gonna be screwed over when macOS 12 comes out?

@Jbis, RE: "Am I gonna be screwed over when macOS 12 comes out?" -- Considering how long it took Apple to go from 10 to 11, 12 isn't going to be here anytime soon, unless Apple changes its incrementing standard of the past.

9:41 PM
@user3439894 Sorry, I mean whatever the next version. 11.1 or 12

10:02 PM
Well, we have BigSur already at 11.2.3 so the next major version may very well be macOS 12
