Don’t despair @ankii - it’s so hard to do both clarify and answer. Most of the time you have to consciously decide are you going to make an answer based on your likely flawed understanding of the issue or try to help clarify

doing both is just a recipe for disaster most times unless the asker is superbly well adjusted, able to think and write. Not all vague / poor questions have that sort of person doing the asking IMO

It’s nothing about the people - they are here for help, just the total help cant be provided by one persn

You have to take comfort in you tried, you were open to learn and you did something to move the discussion forward. Being criticized means you did something.

It’s easy to snipe, sadly - hard to do
