@patrix thanks. (A recent bounty relinquished my ability to comment in Unix & Linux.)

@grgarside thanks. I can't see a chat profile at apple.stackexchange.com/users/25598/mark-adler so I took the URL of your chat profile and overtyped with the Ask Different user ID number of Mark Adler but clearly, chat.stackexchange.com/users/25598/mark-adler is not Mark Adler.
Then I realised that the user ID number is not unique (at stackexchange.com/users/1136690/mark-adler it's different) so I tried chat.stackexchange.com/users/1136690/mark-adler but that's not found. Does that mean that Mark has never chatted?

Does any part of a person's network profile show whether that person has a chat profile?
stackexchange.com/users/1686675/grgarside for example. Unless I'm missing something, I can't find a route from there to George's chat profile (and chat.stackexchange.com/faq does not advise on this point).

/me finds meta.stackexchange.com/q/70385/166799 via meta.stackexchange.com/q/146569/166799 – I should respond to the latter.

@GrahamPerrin I think the profiles are deprecated in favor of names
If you type @ g r g a r - doesn't george's account and icon show up as a hit?

Hi @Jagra
with respect to your question
1
Q: Mac Pro APPLE RAID volume questions

JagraMy Mac Pro 4.1 (circa 2009) has a MacPro Raid Card and the software shows two storage volumes - one 1TB SAS disk and one 2 TB SAS RAID volume. The removal of the Parallels volume leaves me with the following showing in Disk Utility: APPLE RAID Card Media: 1 TB SAS Internal Physical Drive ...

it's really blowing up into something quite broad

TIL you can use an open-source tool to install and update Mac App Store apps:
> A simple command line interface for the Mac App Store. Designed for scripting and automation.

Q: Can Mac App Store installs & upgrades be automated?

Joseph HolstenHow can I script installing or upgrading apps from the Mac App Store? I'd prefer command line tools, but AppleScript or some other API would suffice. Relevant puzzle pieces: installer: note especially the -store flag which is used to simulate App Store installs for package devs. systemupdate: ...

I'm gladly revising my answers that this can't easily be done. Hopefully Apple doesn't quash this tool in near term updates.

Hi @bmike -- Yeah I know, likely best for me to break it up into different questions or maybe to just retarget the original. Bottom line, I just want to make certain I have reliable HDs that I can access. Looks like I can just pull out the RAID card and reformat all the drives (if I can find a boot disk ;-(, but given all that trouble, I'll have to weigh my options. -- Thx
