Q: Synonym request: [software-uninstall] to [uninstall]

@Zanna There are two tags regarding uninstalling in AU: uninstall and software-uninstall.

Tag info of uninstall: "Questions about uninstalling software in Ubuntu, or uninstalling Ubuntu from a computer."

Tag info of software-uninstall: "for questions about uninstalling software on Ubuntu."

Uninstalling software is common for both the tags and I do not think that's a good thing.

What should we do to fix the issue?

There is already a question about this topic in meta, but it's old:

We have two tags: uninstall - lots of questions software-uninstall - handful of questions Both of these tags are for questions relating to uninstalling software. Can we merge the contents of software-uninstall into uninstall and then make the former a synonym of the latter?

@RandomPerson yeah, I think we should keep only software-uninstall and try to remove the other tag

we should synonymise uninstall to software-uninstall and not merge them and gradually remove the uninstall tag

@RandomPerson probably, but it's presumably unintentional, like they just lost their cookie

Considering it's not abuse, we can't do anything unless they ask for their accounts to be merged (and only SE employees can do that). People unintentionally creating multiple accounts happens quite a lot
