no repro, see answer - I don't think "factory reset" is specific enough to be useful, the OP seems also think it is not specific enough to be useful but seems to have expressed a wish not to elaborate, and we cannot force them to post their solution and should not try.

OT no-repro, I don't know what happened but it's back to default, as far as I can tell. I didn't do anything, just a usual reboot.

Was this edit suggestion seems approvable?

@Kulfy I have rolled back the edit. If anyone feels that the rollback wasn't justified. Feel free to roll back the roll back.

Console for Windows I assume.

are they trying to run xdg-open etc on Windows?

Yes. Seems OT.

What's odd is why they would expect it to work

6:51 PM
Seems like they're new to computers and don't understand the difference in OS's well. They might have googled "How to open files from command line"

@Zanna Because they probably are Windows users and WSL is their first interaction with anything Linux-related. So they don't know or don't exactly understand the limitations of WSL. They search for various how-to's, but they don't really know which of them are only applicable in a full Linux installation (be it on bare metal or VM) and which also work on WSL.
@Kulfy Haha! We said almost the same!

@user3140225 I won't expect WSL to generate "is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." error.
If they were using WSL, they would have got something like command not found

@Kulfy But they're using cmder.

"cmder is a portable console emulator for Windows". See cmder.net

Yeah, I have used it in the past with WSL.

6:55 PM
Did you invoke ubuntu from cmder like sometimes I call ubuntu2004 from Powershell?

I remember I had set it as the default terminal for WSL, but not much details. It's been 2 or 3 years since I last used it.

WSL by default uses CMD as its front-end AFAIK.
(unrelated to above) dupe

I followed something like this
@Kulfy Should this be flagged or just downvoted?
@user3140225 It was not this post, but something similar that I had found on github. I had changed cmder's settings so it would launch WSL by default.

@user3140225 I have only downvoted since I don't have vote to delete answer privileges. It's not NAA either.

I too downvoted.

7:11 PM
@user3140225 But still I don't think they are using Ubuntu in anyway as evident by the error message.

@Kulfy Maybe you are right. It's at least unclear.

7:28 PM
(unrelated) Is it OT?

@Kulfy Hmm. I voted to close this one as OT, but now that I look at it I'm not so sure about that.
Oh. I looked at the edit history. The initial post was saying: "Hello I am configuring a docker image on top of debian. " They later changed "debian" to "ubuntu".

Ughh.. Closed. Thanks.

No problem!

@Kulfy Is it still EOL after OP's edit?

@Natty fp Narrowly an answer, in that it's suggesting to use a USB 2.0 port.

8:41 PM
@user3140225 It's a misplaced answer, so I delete voted it, but I didn't downvote it because it has already been downvoted 3 times.
@user3140225 I don't think it's still EOL.
