@Natty ne Borderline with fp. Definitely acceptable as an answer... but are there risks of that approach? Couldn't adding the Pop!_OS PPA cause other software to be upgraded to Pop!_OS-provided versions?

I've flagged this question to request that it be migrated to Unix & Linux. I think that's better than editing it to appear more on-topic. The problem they had would happen on Ubuntu, but going by the wording of the question, the system on which they had it was CentOS. If it is reopened here and answered, the OP will presumably keep testing modified version of it first on CentOS.
Also, though I didn't mention this in my flag, Unix & Linux is probably a better target for it than Stack Overflow because it's about system administration. It would be acceptable to ask that question on Stack Overflow, and if it were to be migrated to Stack Overflow (or Super User, or possibly even Server Fault though I wouldn't risk it actually that would be fine) then that would be okay. But contrary to what was commented, there is no sense in which Stack Overflow is the specific place where it belongs.

@EliahKagan thanks for that, done it :)

Thanks!

it's a pleasure... at least I could do one useful thing in the day haha

I just noticed that when a question is edited and migrated, there is only one revision in the target, so edits by others are effectively attributed to the OP.

@EliahKagan hmm that is good to know

Is there some reason it shouldn't also migrate the edits? This seems like a bug because it can attribute words to people who have not said them. Furthermore, OPs can't correct or effectively object to the problem with creating an account on the target site, where they may or may not wish to have an account! Is there a Meta Stack Exchange post about this bug?

@EliahKagan I am not aware of one. I agree it should definitely migrate the edit history.
I had the idea of making a Trello board to do the tag wiki project
I feel that Trello is the right tool for organising collaboration on that
I thought of this when I was thinking about reaching the end of the tag
I am probably about 2 weeks from completing the removal. I have added posts to many tags in this process, and some of those tags have no wiki, or no good wiki, or no excerpt
although I have some more tag work to do, I am hoping to resume the self-answer query project when I have finished removing the images tag, as I mentioned earlier
if anyone is interested in working on the self-answer query project, let me know!
I will probably ping people about it later as they stray/lurk foolishly into my sight :)

Q: Preserve revision history on migrated questions

Kyle CroninWhen a post is migrated from one site to another, the revision history is lost. I think that it's important to retain this history even if the post is moved to a different site. There is also a practical reason for doing so - sometimes a post is edited to say "please move me to X" in order to ge...

Looks like that bug was fixed and resurfaced again (as per comment in that answer dt Sep '14)
