@EliahKagan Well that's about 7 year old question and unlikely to be clear. I think.

Yeah, I VTC'd it as unclear.
^^ That should have been an audit, not an actual case of someone voting to close as off-topic.
probably not unclear - not very well asked, but people can ask how to install specific software, and I think any procedure that usually works for most people would qualify as an answer.
Sorry, this is the review link for that.
unclear - the question is on-topic, but they might be trying to ask a specific question about installation, or they might be trying to explain why they wish to install Ubuntu
(The specific problems described are in another OS but their goal is to install Ubuntu, so it's not actually off-topic, but I think it should be closed as unclear.)
I believe this question we discussed when it was posted is not unclear. It may have been unclearly worded originally, but I think my title change to "non-UI" fixed that.
dupe (but not off-topic)
dupe - the OP already has the device and can try Ubuntu on it, so the general target applies
not unclear, the OP is asking how to check - but maybe it's a dupe of something?

Do we have something for this?

(related to meta) I think with the recent redesign of the banners on closed questions, this feature request might not be applicable anymore. Unlike before, there's only one banner now that too on the top of the question. The close voters aren't displayed to users with <3k rep unless they are on revisions or timeline page. Should I post this as an answer over there? (otherwise Community would keep on bumping it)

@Kulfy Yes, posting an answer to that meta question is a good idea.
(The main reason to do so is not to keep Community from bumping it, though, but rather so that people who visit the page know what's going on.)

@EliahKagan Writing...
On a side note, do you have any question which is closed as dupe? I mean is there any question posted by you which is closed as dupe?

2:48 PM
@Kulfy No.
Though I suspect my "Unhandled sense code" question, Why is my external USB hard drive sometimes completely inaccessible?, may be a duplicate of something.
I think we have a number of questions about similar errors that can probably be closed as duplicates, and I don't think my question is the best target, so it can probably be closed as a duplicate too, if a suitable target is found.
Unfortunately, it was years ago that I found many other question about that sort of error. I don't know where the file is where I kept the list. I did post comments on many of them. If the question are still around and the comments have not been removed, then most of them could probably be found with a SEDE query for questions that have never received a close vote but that have a comment on them, written by me, with duplicate in it.
I recall I wasn't sure at the time that they were duplicates so I didn't VTC (even though I had enough rep to do so). Or maybe the issue was that I was out of close votes for the day. I think this was before the current review system was put in place, when we had a vast number of questions waiting to be closed.
Anyway, I'm guessing you're asking because you're hoping I might be able to check something in the Ask Ubuntu interface?

@EliahKagan Okay. Actually with the new redesign "ask a new question" disappeared which used to be in the second banner(Example). I'm not sure if that exists for OP.

That change might be good, since I think it is more common that people should edit their closed question than ask a new one. Not overwhelmingly more common for duplicates, but somewhat more common.
Oh. But maybe I have Ask Ubuntu Meta questions that are closed as duplicates.
I do.
What is shown depends on when the question was closed because some dupes are old enough that the Community bot edited a dupe banner into the question itself to signify that it is a duplicate.
@Kulfy An ideal example would be one in which the question isn't so old that it has a Community-added banner in the question body itself, but where I was not myself one of the close voters (in case that matters... though it probably doesn't). I'm not finding one of those, but I have a number of duplicates on meta where I was a close voter. On those, the system does tell me to ask a new question if the question it's closed as a duplicate of doesn't solve my problem.

Q: Is it OK to post, and how should we deal with, non-English (or partly non-English) answers intended for translation?

Eliah KaganQuestions in languages other than English, or which contain non-English text and translated text, have been discussed before on meta. But what about answers that are written in other languages? How should we deal with them? If someone can translate them, can we keep them? Should we tell people n...

I assume it shows that on the main site too (except with the "ask a new one" link being a link to ask a question on the main site).

Thank you for the info. It seems SE has 3 different notices o.O

No problem. What are the three?
For older questions, where the Community user edited in the dupe banner, it doesn't give me any information except that it was closed and who closed it. For example:

On that one, the post notice, which appears above the post body text (and thus above the Community-added dupe banner) just looks like this:
