I don't think we should close this question as a duplicate of the much more specific proposed target.
dupe, at least in this case, since that's something the OP can test in a live environment with the machine they already have

@Natty tp - but it was translated and should no longer be flagged or deleted (I thing this is still tp for Natty's purposes rather than ne)
@Natty tp
no longer needed, wrong canned comment

@EliahKagan I think this is an improvement

@Zanna I'm not sure if the close reason wordings are improvements. But I think the changed text for the comments that used to say "Possible duplicate" is good.
At least the last two comments on this question are no longer needed.
Also, this, that, and this are no longer needed.
no longer needed - it's too bad they didn't, but it's just noise now

@Natty tp
Do we have something this question could be duped to?
no longer needed (it was a reply to an accept rate comment)

@EliahKagan hmm now there's WSL...

@EliahKagan Post already reported

Oh. For some reason I thought that was a Smokey report.
Oh, because I saw the Smokey report when Natty hadn't yet reported it. :)

flagged the comments below the question as no longer needed

@EliahKagan If I well understood the question, I think this can serve as target

@pomsky I've flagged all three.

@Zanna According to Wikipedia, WSL was initially released in 2016. So the question isn't about WSL. I think.

sure but I mean for current and future visitors

I think WSL qualifies for that general description, and I don't think it's unavailability at the time the question was asked is a problem for what should be done with the question now, though I do think the question should not be duped to something that is just about WSL. Also, Wubi still applies to that question, in that it historically applied, but also in that it still applies--it is still supported on 16.04 LTS, at least, though it does not work with UEFI.

Is it unclear then?

I think it is clear

I think we have something that actually covers, and explains the differences between, virtualization, Wubi, and WSL.
But I could be wrong in thinking this. I am not finding it at the moment.
I think it's clear.
It might be too broad... but I don't think it's too broad.

I couldn't think that I had seen such a question and was wondering if this question could become that one

I think this should be reopened so that OP can post what they did as an answer.

4:01 PM
I agree. I've cast a reopen vote.

Thanks.

me too. It's unfortunate that it got closed. Hope it gets nicely fixed

Hmm, I wonder why the system didn't remove that automatically. Flagged.

@EliahKagan Post already reported

unclear, unless it can be edited to be clear, which I don't know how to do (because I'm not confident in my guesses as to what it might be asking for).

@EliahKagan Seems like a dupe

@Natty tp - though it would be better for it to be translated (or translated and expanded) than deleted
(I've added a translation. The post could still be improved.)
