no longer needed (wrong canned comment - the post is intended as an answer and it is not a request for clarification)

^^ For false positives, I'm not sure exactly where the line is between ne and regular fp, but I'm inclined to think that a post that both (a) consists mostly of commands not formatted as code and (b) starts as a command not formatted as code is ne. If fp feedback had been given on that, I wouldn't have overridden it as ne, though.

@user3140225 Dead links can often be fixed by entering them into the Wayback Machine and finding a good snapshot. (There are not always any snapshots, and when there are there is not always a good one, but often there is.) I improved your edit suggestion on that post by putting back a fixed link (and placing it less obtrusively at the end, since the title of of the page is long and potentially distracting).
As a secondary matter, I think both comments on the post are now no longer needed, due to our edits.

@EliahKagan I was going to re-edit those edits with the redundant italics when I would reach 2000 rep, but thanks anyway!

No problem!

I think we were wrong to close this DVD authoring question as a duplicate of a DVD burning question. See comments. I've voted to reopen the question.

no longer needed - An edit has added the text. I don't think the comment is doing much good anymore. It would only serve as general advice, and that's sort of murky in this particular case.
Though it's true that people should generally paste text rather than images of their terminals, it wouldn't have been clear to a novice user that text would have been adequate here, since the text in the terminal is shown with formatting that cannot really be reproduced in a code block.
When I approved the edit that added the code block, I kept the original image as well, which actually does provide useful information, in that it's (IMO) somewhat easier to notice that the text is cut off on, and thus scrolls, to the right (which is the reason it got paged at all).
(Code blocks on AU usually render showing gray rightward of the last character, creating the impression that an actual newline character originally appeared at the end of each line shown.)

I think this question is not really a duplicate because it is about the specific mistake of appending a directory other than ~/bin to $PATH inside the check for whether ~/bin exists (which fails when ~/bin doesn't exist even when the other directory does).
not no repro - It's out of the queue, but if the OP doesn't post an answer, then one (probably a CW answer) should be posted. I've commented.
OT bug (or no repro)
no repro because the problem installing was (a) due to faulty hardware and (b) not described in enough detail, or with any technical details, that would make it possible to infer that (I don't think all or even most hardware problems are no repro, but I think they're no repro when there's nothing about Ubuntu in the question for other people to find by searching and learn they likely have a hardware problem)

OT bug or no repro
Seems clear enough to answer. And it's definitely on-topic.
Should one of this and that be duped to the other?
