Although I commented but I think I should go further and redact the line which says: create a symlink to the python2/python3 executable (sudo ln -s /usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/python or sudo ln -s /usr/bin/python3 /usr/bin/python)

I seem to recall we have something for this. Is this the situation where Windows is installed in EFI mode but Ubuntu got installed in BIOS compatibility mode? @karel I recall you knew of a good question and answers for duping questions like this, and I'm having some trouble finding it -- though I admit I might be confusing the situation with something else.
