dupe, although regrettably no "good" solutions: remove Shotwell OR the bug got WONTFIX
(but it's an intended "feature" anyway)

@Zanna Thanks for this comment, I have often noticed that this user implicitly tries to pass their personal opinion of not supporting third-party softwares as the site's general policy.

This post is actually the answer, and the comment there is not needed. (The post might benefit from an edit though.)

@Zanna But are we ever all active in the room at the same moment? That is the question. :)

I'm not convinced this question was really POB or too broad. There aren't that many programs in actual use for burning optical media on Ubuntu in the first place, and the question does give a specific requirement, with concrete examples of what doesn't meet them, narrowing it further.

@EliahKagan I think it was Ankit Sharma who said "if you have 4 friends anything is on topic"

@Zanna Or off-topic.
In all seriousness, though, I hope no one votes to close or reopen anything out of a wish to agree with others.

hahaha me too
@EliahKagan I have trouble editing posts like that, but I've had a go
I upvoted it too

@Natty tp
@Kulfy Wait so... which use of the term "end of life" is actually correct?
Does the site help need to be edited? (Do we need to have another vote about what our policy actually is?)
Or is it the wiki that's wrong?
@Kulfy That's definitely not OP → no repro, because it's reproduced every time a user is logged on when they are added to a group. Group membership changes aren't activated automatically for current sessions, only for new sessions after the change. (There's a way to gain the group membership in an existing login but it's awkward and rarely done.)
Logging off and back on would have solved the problem just as well as rebooting. The answer could be expanded, or, better, another one could be posted. But I think it might be a dupe of something. In either case, it's not no repro, because the situation can be fully understood from the problem description and it potentially applies to others (more than that: it definitely applies to almost all of us).
I should really be editing and answering and stuff rather than posting these messages about it. :)
But I'm going afk soon and I don't really have time at the moment to do it justice.

@EliahKagan Ubuntu Wiki is right on its position. However, I think editing help page and closing reason page should be edited out and I do believe "End of Standard Support" is more precise than "End of LIfe". Wikipedia looks more precise to me since it mentions "Public Support until" similarly to Java. Sometimes Ubuntu is -_-
@EliahKagan Fair call. That answer was in LQP. Need to read questions with more concentration before voting

@Kulfy I've gotten around to posting, but I'm still thinking that question might really be a dupe of something.
I think this recently bumped question is of considerable historical interest and I'd rather close it as a duplicate, or maybe expand one of its answers, than close it as no repro, which I don't think is appropriate there. Or it could just be left alone! But there seems to be a really strong drive to deal with Commuity-bumped posts, even when dealing with them makes the situation worse instead of better.
(I'm speaking generally in saying that, not about that post specifically.)

4:35 PM
@EliahKagan I think I have written at least one answer about needing to log out and in after changing groups, but in any case your answer about it gives a better explanation than any others I remember seeing

Well, the posts could be linked together with comments even if no duping is called for.

True :)

Why is this question off topic?

5:54 PM
@Zanna I see no reason for that to be off-topic and I've reviewed it as Leave Open.
